Don't waste your time on this one. It only comes on when plugged into the wall. Notice I said it only comes on, which doesn't mean it worked.I called customer service and listened to a recording that says due to the high call volume a ticket needed to be opened. About 4 hours later I received an email in which they told me to get with Amazon for a refund.

I bought this as a gift for my son. We opened it and immediately charged it up. After about 2 hours of charging we decided to try it. I unplugged the charger and the unit wouldn’t turn on. After a while I realized it would only turn on while plugged in. I have a very technical job that involves electrical circuitry and solid state electronics so I decided to take it apart to make sure the battery wasn’t unplugged or something easy to resolve. Upon removing the cover and exposing the wiring all looked normal other than the fact that the battery looked like it came off of a shelf of an old warehouse. It was clearly an old battery and when I checked the voltage it read 0 and wouldn’t tale a charge. It was an old defective battery in my son’s “new” hoverboard. Needless to say it was returned and I did not order a new one.

The Hoverboard was a gift to my 9 year-old nephew. I was hesitant that it would not be a smooth ride or might end up having problems with charging and what not. But for months now, he has had such great fun on it! His 6 year-old sister is also now an expert. It’s just amazing to see them float about on the board so naturally! It has exceeded all my expectations. Zero problems so far. It was a lot less expensive than some of the other brands which were more than 3 times the price I paid for this. Worth every cent! Highly recommend for children. Of course with all the precautions needed in case of the inevitable falls during the learning phase.

The media could not be loaded. The first Hover-1 helix that we purchased for Christmas had the charging/turning on problem others are listing. We charged it for ~5 hours. The wall charger indicator light was always green. The device would power up while plugged in, but wouldn't turn on if unplugged. Ever.The second device (return/replaced) charges and turns on, but doesn't work. It vibrates quite violently and has a "mind of its own". (We now have many skid marks on the floors where a ride was attempted.) We have recalibrated it several times to no effect. My son has ridden his friend's hoverboards, so this isn't a learning curve issue. The board is quite defective in many different ways. It seems that there is a very high percentage of defective Hover-1 Helix boards right now.Will return for refund and look elsewhere for a hoverboard.

Do not buy this product, the battery came out defective, it does not charge and it does not turn on.

I bought this for my granddaughter as a Christmas present and she loved it.

Purchased one for my daughter for Xmas. Unwrapped and placed on the charger and it wouldn't even turn on. Initiated a return, the replacement showed up a week later. Unwrapped, plugged in and same issue. Disappointed kid for sure and we are not willing to try a 3rd.Note....we already have two boards of another brand and are familiar with their operation.
