Girls Love to Fart (1)

A book every young child should have read to them
When I was growing up, this old nursery rhyme bothered me:"What are little boys made of? Frogs and snails, And puppy-dogs' tails; That's what little boys are made of. What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice, And all that's nice; That's what little girls are made of." There's this old-fashioned idea which - whilst rejected by some adults, is still present in the messages we tell children - that boys can be gross and girls should be pretty. It pains me to think that any child, of any gender, would feel uncomfortable because of a bodily function. This book is both fantastic fun, with zingy artwork and a great sense of humour, and carries an important message of equality, being comfortable in your own skin and being kind to one another.I adore this book and will be buying it as a present for family members for years to come.

Warning: may bring on farts!
Alice is a trailblazer for changing the narration around gender stereotype. She is also responsible for my daughter now farting a lot!My daughter was starting to feel ashamed of her farts, even going as far as to blame it on the cat!I bought Alice's book and since then my daughter has been trumping away with pride! With me as her fart-influencer!Thank you Alice for your fantastic work for changing the way that females think they should look, act and feel!We can't wait for the next book! π

Fab read for any child
Both my 6 year old and 3 year old loved this book. I had it in my basket for months thinking my girls would love it. Told my 6 year old she could choose a book as a treat for world book day. She searched books for 7 year olds and his was on the list. Instantly she purchased and this was her weekend news to tell the class. I donβt like the word fart (Iβm sure it was forbidden as a child) but it in so many childrenβs books now, I just need to get over myself.

Regular read in our book rotation. Funny and charming!
This book, as well as making my five year old daughter laugh, has taught her that girls have as much right to fart as boys. It is regularly requested at bed time. Lovely book.
