Great hammer, get one
Used a Stanley fiberrglass hammer before. Helped friend with an addition and realized that my Stanley was not a good hammer. Used friend's Estwing.... Far superior. Some reviewers concerned about stickers-- soak in hot soapy water for a few minutes... Good feel, real hammer, get one. I suggest smooth front first, multipurpose, but will buy framing version (waffle face) when the need arises.

Truss builders Look here
It's an okay hammer. I build trusses and I needed a good hammer, so I bought this one to replace my old one which was a 30 year old estwing. I found this hammer only good for hitting in nails and that's it. It cannot hit on plates very well like my old hammer which can pound on on plates. There is a difference between hitting on plates and pounding them on.It felt like this hammer took all the shock in the handle and when your working hard and fast it can numb your hand. So that's a minus 2. It also felt like you swing a rod not a hammer. My old hammer does not take any shock at all, I. Barley feel it when I pound them plates on.For anyone looking for a hammer to build trusses I would recommend trying the hammer before actually buying it. Maybe the hammer was a bad one.... Who knows.

The only hammer that stands up to my abuse
I have been using the Estwing hammers for twenty years. I have liked other hammers but you can pry with this hammer like no other. They all drive nails if you can swing. I always found the grip comfortable.
