Demystifying petal crafting in mosaic art
This is my first book on written tutorials on the art of Mosaic. I've assisted an artist in the making of a commissionned mural and wanted to further my skills in mosaic. While 2 paper books were ordered and awaited, I bought this book on impulse as this was one of the few available as ebooks for beginners. It is very simply written and petal crafting of 4 kinds is simplified through diagrams. A basic introduction on mosaic supplies and the process itself precedes short tutorials on petal cutting so the book makes no assumptions and starts from the beginning. It also carries a project on mosaicing a pot base that involves cutting flower petals. The base is attractive enough to inspire an immediate plunge into the art. In the end it has photos of 14 mosaiced items with varied flowers to consolidate one's learning. The book makes petal crafting undaunting for a new comer.Jyoti

Less is More
This book, although simple, has a lot of good information. It explains what is being done, and there are pictures and examples so you know what the final result should look like. I had been wanting to learn how to cut better petals, and this book did the trick! You. Eed to enlarge the picture so the petals can be seen. There are 3 or 4 types.

great book!
Clear and simple explanations, great ideas! This is the second mosaic book from Sigalit Eshet that I bought, and I love it! Like in the mosaic for home and garden book, this book is great, with many guided projects. The author takes you through each project to completion. I tried to do some flowers and it works! You should try it too.

But this book!
This book is a TREASURE! I have many, many mosaic books in my studio, but this one, Beautiful Flowers by Sigalit Eshet, is my favorite. I have learned more from this book than any other in my library. Not only does this have fantastic pattern ideas...Sigalit's illustrations and wisdom in this area of art glass, make cutting so clear and easy! I would give this book 10 stars if I could!

Very disappointed, not what it said it was..
Dont buy this book. The first 177 pages of the book was an argument about why she believes the earth is flat not round. 34 pages were instructional. There are other media's for sharing a theory, but not by being deceitful about the content of a book. That's wrong.

Inspiring and perfect for a beginner like me.
Attracted by the flowers and having always fancied trying my hand at this I downloaded this book out of curiousity whilst on special offer. The flowers looked so impressive that I was really surprised to see how easy they were to reproduce. This book is perfect for a beginner like me, but would less unit able for somebody with more experience. The step by step instruction are first class and the examples a good starting point.Use of alternative materials is also mentioned in the text. Obvious in hindsight but I hadn't considered the use of broken cups and other crockery having always associated mosaic work with broken tiles.I'm looking forward to spring and already planning to fill lots of (mosaic) pots with flowers. I have always loved the Spanish blue and white combinations so have started hunting for cheap secondhand crockery in appropriate colours.I can recommend this anyone who like me who is inexperienced and only needs a little push to try mosaics. However on the downside this book is only 53 pages so it is a bit short.

Very straight forward 'booklet'
Very straight forward booklet (hardly a book), with large diagrams which take up plenty of space- not a compliment -just padding the page to make a few more pages. The pictures give straight forward examples which would pose little difficulty to the beginner. The method suggested for cutting some tiles looks foolproof, and no mention of made that tiles don't always cut this accurately. Cutting curved shapes seems to be made more complicated than it need be, and certainly not the way I was taught. So why am I not sending it back? The pictures are a useful reminder in a library of images. I consider myself a reasonably experienced mosaicist, who likes to experiment and try new things, not just for myself, but for others, sonotalways of my choice of design. If you buy it, I recommend paying for a 'new' copy, and so reduce price. Have never been let down.
