Safariland Qls Locking System with Lockin -

I am a collegiate competitive shooter and I use a lot of various holsters, belts, various other pieces of gear. My Universities USPSA team has traditionally been supported by Blade-Tech and they make top quality products. However when it comes to self defense and tactical gear, Safariland has always been my go to! I have various QLS kits mounted on an ALS holster, and SLS holster and a level III SLS/ALS holster and I love the versatility. It allows for quick switching of gear from thigh rig, to duty belt to tac-vest. I have this particular mount on a plate carrier with molle straps.I have yet to find any draw backs to this mounting system. They are very sturdy quality and have a 150-180 lb. breakaway point making them sufficiently strong enough to pass a level III retention test.The only drawback that I have been able to find is of course the price but that is the nature of Safariland, but you get what you pay for. After spending anywhere from $50 to $250 dollars on a holster it can be a little daunting to fork out another $20.00 but it is well worth the investment in order to maximize the usefulness of any Safariland Holster.Overall, this is an awesome product and a great addition to any Safariland product.

Great product. Bought poorer quality adapters that didn’t hold up.

Well, if you've ever used these before and had to change them out, you know that the screws are very, very difficult to remove, if at all possible. They are designed so that after screwing in, they WON'T accidentally back out - they are stuck. Got a new holster and tried to swap the receiver, but instead, I stripped the head on one of the screws trying to get it out. Rather than break something, I just ordered a new set. Very happy - shipping was fast.

Requires some getting used-too! This system works and is convenient but only after a slight modification has been done. When I received this set-up I plunge-attached my holster into place like you are supposed to, however, when you try to remove it you discover some plastic nodules that have been molded into a strategic place to (I'm sure) eliminate the possibility of the holster (and weapon) from being accidently disconnected. The problem is, to disconnect the holster from the belt clip requires at least three hands (and maybe some tools) to accomplish. I still recommend this system but I took my dremel tool and fixed the problem by grinding down those additional raised areas that I believe are over-kill. The raised areas were too much. The holster is still very secure by virtue of the way it locks into place and I can now remove my holster (with two hands) without help from others.

I am constantly needing to take different guns on and off. In the morning I put the belt clip on and have a couple holsters with different guns put away until needed. When its time to use one of them I snap it in the receiver and it is securely carried until I'm done with it then simply remove it until needed again. Since convenience was a little more important to me then security I cut the two small retaining posts off the bottom of the receiver part of the clip. They made it a little to difficult for me to remove the clip. Still extremely secure.

This advertises a kit with the qls 19 and qls 22L which is the quick-kit2. I received a quick-kit1 which has the regular 22, not the 22L with extra locking feature.

An ingenious system that is great when paired with one of their holsters.

The QLS works fine, but I've been trying to order the 22L. The product description is for the 22L. Maybe I'll just keep re-ordering and returning until they figure it out.
