Death Fields Raumjäger Infantry Minature Game Models

Decent models at a great Price Point!
Death Fields Raumjäger InfantryI had had my eye on this box ever since I first saw the concept art online. There wasn’t a ton of info online when I was making my decision to purchase them so now that I have, I wanted to write down my impressions for anyone considering the same purchase. What you get: The set comes with 6 identical sprues each one containing enough parts to create four trooper models. Each sprue contains 4 torsos, 3 sets of standing legs, one set of kneeling legs which can be assembled in either a firing position or a more relaxed pose, a pointing right arm, a grenade throwing right arm, a pistol armed left arm, 3 SMG style laser-rifles, 1 futuristic LMG, 1 Plasma rifle, and one flamethrower. All of the weapons except the flamethrower come with right arm and left hand sculpted to the weapon and there are 4 left arm options to match up with these. The flamethrower has a unique left arm that attaches to a nub on the side of the weapon. Included in the box are 9 different head options: 3 helmeted with gas masks, one bare-headed male head, one bare-headed female head, one each male and female heads in soft caps and two helmeted heads with exposed faces. Extra decorative bits include a radio backpack and a holstered pistol. The GOOD:The Price. You get 24 figures for $35. Assuming you want to put these guys/gals on 25mm bases for use in wargaming, you can likely do so for another $10-12. So that’s 24 for models for under 50 bucks. GW Cadians by contrast now cost 35 dollars for 10 models. Even after the discount you get with most retailers that’s still considerably steeper. The Aesthetics. These figures have a really cool WW2 German Paratrooper vibe to them. They can easily be used as stand-ins for imperial guard in 40k (ala steel legion) or for use in Weird War 2 Games. They take paint well and the details on the cloth parts are deep and respond well to ink washes. There is a decent amount of detail on the uniform and equipment while still being simple to paint in large batches.Easy to clean up: Not a lot of flash means these guys can be assembled with minimal trimming/filing.Lots of special weapons: You get six special weapons in the kit, which is enough to generously kit out your squads as veterans or special weapons squads (assuming you are using these as 40k guard)The MEH…No instructions: While most of the models are pretty intuitive to put together, not all of the weapon and left arm connections are obvious as to which goes with which meaning some trial and error is involved in the construction process. I personally recommend using plastic cement with these as opposed to super-glue, as the extra setting time can help you adjust if you pick the wrong weapon/arm combo. No bases: Not a big deal, but it does add to the expense unless you are using these for a diorama only. Not enough basic rifles: The flip side of having so many special weapons. Each sprue only contains enough parts to equip 3 of the four troopers with the basic rifle, meaning if you want these guys to be conscript squads or something more basic, you can only equip 18 of your 24 troopers with them. Again, not a huge gripe, but something to be aware of.The UGLY:In a lot of cases even after discovering the correct arm/weapon combos some of the models still have a gap where the shoulder armor does not entirely connect to the torso and creating a hard edge where there shouldn’t be one. Not too noticeable, but if you are sensitive to such issues, be aware that this happens.CONCLUSION: Genuinely happy with my purchase. Despite any issues this kit may have, it is still an excellent value for the price-point. I would definitely recommend this kit to miniature wargamers or anyone who just likes cool-looking toy-soldiers.

Almost fits Warhammer Cadians, needs a little putty filler to get perfect. Overall well worth it.
Great for kitbashing Warhammer 40K models, tons of heads and options.

Death Korp or homebrew regiment
Perfect for some imperial guard conversions, way cheaper than GW. I bought this and kitbashed It together with the Cadian infantry and command box. War games Atlantic also makes a Mordian style kit, which I might pick up if it’s similar to these minis

Great Armageddon Steel Legion alternative
The models go together really well and have great details. I added Cadian lasgun arms from Games Workshop and I had very little cutting and filing to do to get a solid fit. I'm very pleased with these guys.
