RancilioSilvia V3 Steam Wand Upgrade Kit - OEM Part

Fits and works well on my old Rancilio Silva expresso machine.

Very easy install in my 2013 Rancilio Silvia. I thought this part was a direct replacement, but it was actually a slight upgrade. I wouldn't call it revolutionary but it certainly is an improvement. One thing is that the new knob is more substantial and appears to be more durable. It has a firmer, heavier feel. Also, the tip of the wand has been given a new silhouette, which is sleeker and easier to clean. Lastly, I believe the valve itself has been updated because it seems to give me finer control...I suppose this could be because the one I replaced was so old, but if it ever worked this well, I don't remember it.It's a pretty simple install, even for me. A few notes: you can actually do the replacement with just a phillips screwdriver and an adjustable wrench. MAKE SURE THE STEAM TANK IS DEPRESSURIZED. Take out the water tank, then take the four screws off that hold the top on. Underneath you'll see a copper pipe with brass fittings connecting the steam tank to the wand valve. I used an adjustable wrench (I'm sure some are shuddering) to remove the nut holding the pipe to the steam tank. One slightly tricky thing is that it's hard to get the steam wand loosened off its mount without loosening the nut that holds the pipe to it...if you had a really thin crescent wrench, then you could get in between I'd bet. But anyway, one big trick is that it seems like you'll have to further disassemble the machine before being able to get the wand and valve in and out, but you can actually do it simply by rotating the entire thing 180 degrees.

She's like a new unit, great value for money. I don't use the wand that much in the summertime, the few times I do I appreciate the updated device!
