Clean cover gel is used to clean cloth and leather book covers. Easily wipe on and off with a soft cloth. Leaves no residue. Brings cloth back to original suppleness. Test a small area be sure it doesn't remove printing or gold stamping.

Dirt off but no luster
Not the best result. It is a petroleum product so once the book was wiped clean ( dirt did come off) it had to sit for a few days in the storage room because of the off gases. When compared to the books in the same series that I had not cleaned yet, the end result showed very little difference. So I would say ,yes, it got the dirt off but no, the book cover does not look restored. When the product was first applied, the book looked more lustrous. Although the luster faded as the book cover dried. It was worth a shot though!

Really bad product. Removed the dye from the 1910 book ...
Really bad product. Removed the dye from the 1910 book and the 2007. Smells like kerosene and leaves an oily residue. Definitely cannot have my bookstore smelling like this.
