The Esoteric Dark Art of Dominology
Saw this dude on a youtube video and he seemed legitimate so I decided to buy the book. Pretty good book easy to read. Ppl saying that the info like counting the board is too basic, but literally all other strategies branch off from doing that. You will figure out how to block, what suit to play, and how to figure out who has what bones if you just do basic math by counting the board. It's literally just adding and subtracting it's not rocket science. If you can't score when three threes are on the board, threes the spinner with two open sides, and you got 4 threes in your hand then you're just dumb AF and no book will help you bc you didn't even realize there are only 7 of each suit, not 8. If you don't understand anything in this book, you simply haven't played enough. I personally thought it was hilarious and very relatable. If you can't follow his explanations of legendary hands, then you need to play a good 500-1000 more games and you'll eventually figure it out. Just like taking roids without lifting won't get you muscles, you're not gonna read a book and all of a sudden be good at whatever the book's about. 4 stars because I think it could have been longer, more anecdotes etc.

for beginners...
it gives basic strats already known in serious domino circles, so its good for new players not for seasoned vets looking for that edge. written quite well though, it seems the author really put his personality in it, it was like i was actually talking to the author as i read the book, i read it every chance i got. the title should be: dominoe basics for beginners.

The Dominologist
Good book, if your a beginner. Does tell you also about the comradery of the game and what to expect from others when your playing. It forewarns you about how people will talk trash to you.It does go in depth to a point but could go a little further in some areas. really needs to have a chapter on how to play defense with some examples. Would be nice if it showed more examples on a more technical level. Overall a good book tho.

good book
Good book if you don't know the game, or if you just know how to play the very kid/simple way. I don't think it is for professional players, but may be to give you a look at how professional players think and play, and help you become one. Bought it for my son to go with the Brass spinner Dominoes set(the set comes without instructions).

Mediocre
Not much here. Anybody who has played the game a few times will not learn anything from this book. The author spends way too much time on BS like slang words and smack talking he and his buddies do and not much about strategy. Not worth the money.

Needs specifics
This book is written in a breezy style which may be fun for some people, but has little detail or examples or even high level strategy. The style results in things like count the board. Great what do I with this count? Or the books says be careful. What does be careful mean? Also the book is disorganized. It talks about combinations in one chapter, but does not explain what a combination is until two chapters later. I would say skip this, but I don't know of any other domino books. I wanted to catch up with my friends who have been playing for years, but this book will not do it.
