Quite nice. Great for cutting in the pan.
I normally prefer metal spatulas with a long, thin, flexible lifting surface for more easily getting under the egg, hamburger or pancake. This spatula has none of those attributes. Nevertheless, I have found it quite useful. It has a short, thick head and is very stiff. Although it is thick, it has a sharpened edge (perhaps this is why it is called a "slice"?). This rigidity makes it quite useful if something has stuck to the pan and needs to be removed with force which might bend a flexible spatula excessively. Moreover, the sharpness of the edge combined with the stiffness also makes this very useful for cutting casseroles, tamales pies, lasagna or the like right in the pyrex dish, metal pan or Le Creuset french oven. Rather than dulling the edge of my nice knives on the glass, metal or enamel surface or in turn damaging those surfaces (particularly the enamel of the Le Creuset), I simply push this spatula down gently and cut out squares of the item. I still use thin, metal, slightly flexible spatulas for most frying pan "work", but I find myself reaching for this one every weekend for the other kitchen tasks mentioned above.

Recommended if Looking for High Quality
This is the best production turner for general stovetop use available. There exist custom products which meet and exceed the Rosle in finish and utility. There also exist specialized turners better suited for specialized applications (e.g. longer handles for grilling). But few, if any, can meet the Rosle where fit, finish, general utility and price point meet. It can handle all but the most delicate of propositions while handling one-pound burgers and thick, buttermilk flapjacks with ease. Not too thick and not too thin. This is designed as your general utility turner and for that it excels at its task. I use this turner with both steel and non-stick pans which advertise compliance with metal utensils. Made in China? Absolutely. But this is a case where Made in China reflects an admirable quality.

Simple, elegant, useful, a pleasure to hold in the hand.
I have other stuff from Rösle so I already knew I liked their style and quality.I had another stainless spatula where the handle somehow came loose from the blade and that annoyed me no end. So I just went with this one where it is all one nice smooth piece.I did end up fixing the other spatula so now I have two stainless ones in the drawer by the stove.Picture shows it in a vintage Griswold cast iron skillet ready for use. Paella for dinner.

Solid, Beautiful, but "Slice" it Does NOT
This is the second Rosle kitchen tool I've bought. I was hoping that the design was as thoughtful and the construction as meticulous on this tool as the Rosle garlic press that I LOOOOOVE. Not quite. The construction is perfect. It has nice heft and balance, and uses thick stainless steel. It is likely to last for decades, maybe centuries. I wanted that front edge to be ground (almost) to a point to make flipping very soft, thin items easy. And to cut nicely. But it's not and it doesn't. It's blunt, belying the "slice" terminology in its name. This has turned out to be slightly less of a problem than I expected. The thing is perfect for removing single servings of apple crisp from a 9x13 pan, for example. This, however, is one task that any tool costing 20% as much could accomplish every bit as well. And that's why I'm not screaming with delight as I was with that garlic press.

Not your wimpy department store turner.
You won't find this Target or Walmart. This is no flimsy plastic throw-away spatula, which can add frustration when dealing with heavier elements to flip in the pan. I also like its length which is conducive to using on a barbecue as well to keeping your hands away from the heat. I use this more than any spatula in the kitchen. It's sturdy enough to bifurcate a grilled cheese sandwich while it's still cooking, for even turn potatoes in a crock pot.

Uitstekend
Uitstekende spatel, heel stevig en degelijk materiaal. Hier ga ik vele en vele jaren gebruik van kunnen maken. Daar staat wel een relatief hoge prijs tegenover ...
