DOES THE JOB and COMPATIBLE WITH THE NIKON Z9!
I received delivery of the product today (12/29/22), and loaded the included AAA battery in the transmitter, attached the receiver to my Nikon Z9, turned on the receiver and initiated the autofocus (button pushed half-way down) and shutter release (button pushed all the way down). It activated both the autofocus function and shutter release as intended, and installation was quick & easy. NOTE: I have a Small-Rig L-Bracket installed on my Z9, and the receiver SMDV RFN4s receiver was able to be installed easily without removing the bracket.Following the successful test I'VE CONCLUDED THAT THE SMDV RFN4s IS INDEED COMPATIBLE WITH THE Z9, since that question had not been adequately answered in the reviews I read before my purchase.I'm writing this review early in the assessment process in order to assure those considering the purchase of the SMDV RFN4s for their Nikon Z9, that it's compatible. I'm also giving the unit 5 stars at this point in the belief that it will be durable as well. The unit feels solid, well built and professional grade out of the box, but I will only be able to confirm durability over a period of extended use in the field. At a cost of only $58, it is obviously a considerably better value than the $280 Nikon branded version of the Z9 wireless remote with similar functionality. I hope this review is helpful for those considering purchasing the unit for their Nikon Z9.NOTE: Some of the reviews I've read by DSLR users of the product mentioned the lack of weather sealing on the transmitter. If that's the case, the issue could be a problem if being used in inclement weather. You'll want to consider the conditions where you'll be using the unit. I anticipate using the transmitter primarily indoors. Of course, weather sealing could be an important consideration for wildlife and landscape photographers operating outdoors.

Worked perfectly with Nikon D850. Is working perfectly with Nkon Z8 as well!
One of the well made productrs for Nikon cameras. Perfect remote shutter for landscape and astrophotography. I have used one with D850 for 5 years and never had any issues. I bought a new one for Z8 and its perfectly as intended. Go for this instead of any official Nikon remote shutters and same money!

The best wireless remote I've used ever.
I was happy with the size and features of the remote for my Nikon D3, D4, and D700. I love it for the ff. reasons:1) 1x AAA battery to power the transmitter.2) The receiver is powered by the camera body.3) The remote has a locking feature that protects the camera from firing by accident. The remote is the right size to put in your pocket or hide when taking a self-portrait or group shots.4) Prevents camera/shutter vibration when doing macro photography.5) Affordable price and convenient to use.

Instructions entirely in Chinese... Works just fine
Same unit as the Vello, but instructions are entirely written in, I think, Chinese. Do a search for Freewave Micro to find a user manual that's in English. Not very complex, and you can probably figure it out without the manual. Back cover of the remote slides up (very tight!) to reveal battery compartment and four dip switches. Make sure to set the dip switches in the remote the same as the receiver. Receiver uses power from the camera. Push button to turn it on. Push and hold to turn it off. Cover on front of remote slides over button to prevent accidental shutter release.

Best Remote I've Ever Used
My headline says it all. It is truly the best remote trigger I've used. I have several and use them on my Nikons D500, D850 and Z9.They have good range (about 30 feet), but at that distance they sometimes don't trigger when the camera is facing away from me. When I'm in a situation like that and I can't physically move closer, I just use a different trigger that I can attach to my hot shoe and face me.Other than that, this trigger has never let me down and I love how one transmitter can trigger multiple receivers.

Awesome Trigger
I use this trigger. on my Nikon Z8 especially when I am working from my tripod or do bracketing. Very small. easy to use. I love it.

Definitely get this. Works with the Nikon Z8
The media could not be loaded. Can use this for multiple cams at once. Makes it my favorite out there! It’s so dumb the Nikon Bluetooth remotes don’t work with the Z cameras.Fortunately this works. However?= someone should try and fully screw it on their Z cam… I haven’t had a chance to on either rig lol.
