Great for a first apartment
4 stars only because I don't think 'College' belongs in the Title, but this is a great little book with pretty simple recipes for anyone who has their first apartment with a small, basic kitchen, and is otherwise on their own for the first time. Not intended for a dorm room at ALL.This is a gift for my brother ( a recent college grad), who loves to cook, but is forever calling me asking pretty basic cooking/ grocery questions. Assuming he reads the book, this should answer most of them LOLSome of the recipes are overly simple, to the point of being obvious (if you need help with a bagel and cream cheese, maybe you should still live at home or eat out LOLOL) but there are a good number of recipes that look simple enough for the novice to make, assuming they have some common sense. I do wish the recipes had photos (at least some) but won't dock any stars for that. For the price I paid ($6 and free prime shipping) , it is what I expected, if not maybe a little better.

So simple and delicious!
I got this when I first went to college (bought this one for a friend) and I still use the recipes to this day! The instructions are ready to follow and three meals are simple enough a college kid could make it.

Favorite Cookbook Ever!
I lovelovelove this book! I bought it for myself when I started working as a live-in nanny and needed to make an occasional meal for my charge. Now that I'm living by myself, I find it super useful when I want to make something healthier than M&Ms and want to know how to do it. The recipes are simple, use few ingredients, and have great instructions. For anyone who is a more advanced cook, this is probably not what you're looking for, but for someone who wants a nice home cooked meal without having to go to mom's house, it's great!

Perfect gift!
Great gift idea... read though some of the recipes and even though some are no brainers (like turkey wraps... DUH!) --- you have to consider the person using this and it makes sense. Bought this for my 21 year old college student niece for christmas. I think she will get a ton of use out of this because her idea of eating dinner is a can of chef-boy-r-dee. This is a good stepping stone to get them thinking about simple things to make at home (or in the dorm) so that they aren't running to get fast food every meal.

It is alright
It is ok,but not for someone who knows how to make a bagel sandwich. Also how to even make a sunny side up egg. I knew it was going to have a few novice ideas but not so novice that it tells you how to make a grilled cheese sandwich. I learned how to make one of those when I was 10 years old....

Good Resource
Bought this for a brother going into college. Instructions look simple and easy to follow, and even has instructions on how to use certain appliances that a kid might not have paid much attention to up until this point. Works great with hotplates and microwaves.
