APEMAN Action Camera A79, 4K 20MP WiFi Webcam Underwater Waterproof 40M with External Microphone and Remote Control

I have purchased Apeman 4k action camera because I was looking for a cheaper alternative of gopro. I used to have an alternative before,but I wasn't happy with it. I did not expect this to be brilliant, but it really is! I am so pleased!I was surprised of the photo and video quality. It is very easy to use. I like the option that I can also control my camera via phone or tablet using app and download photos instantly. It is very helpful if you want to use drone or when you don't have a remote control with you.There are also plenty of different accessories included (few different mounts and screws, 360 degree rotating screw, additional battery, bandages, remote control, waterproof case,...)and you just need to get a microSD card to start using it.I would definitely recommend buying this action camera as I think this is the best alternative of the famous gopro, the price is afordable and Apeman provide brilliant customer service. I don't think would buy another one if I decide to invest more.

This was my first action camera purchase so it involved a lot of research and mild trepidation. I need not have feared, as this is a well built, well thought out little unit. The manual is clear and in well written English, making set up easy. It comes with a stack of useful mounting accessories, TWO batteries and a waterproof case which works well. Menus are easy to navigate making setup easy. Time lapse video works well with several inter shot delay options. Video and photo quality are both good (remember to remove the plastic protection on the lens and case first!). All in all I am very happy with my purchase, even at twice the price this is a great little camera. I really cannot see what I would get for six times the price from a GoPro, making this a solid buy. The only thing I might buy is an external car mount and maybe a high capacity battery and separate charger instead of charging in-camera via micro USB, however the latter is a great convenience, not a complaint. All in all a great buy, which I would happily recommend to family and friends, as well as other Amazon customers.

Apart from the overall rating, all functions except sound recording were only briefly assessed, so the ratings, which were compulsory, are on that basis.The overall rating is one star entirely because the level of sound captured by this camera when NOT in its waterproof case, whether recorded via built-in or plug-in microphone, is so faint as to be completely useless. I bought three of these and they were all the same.Returned for refund, with thanks to Amazon for their customary efficiency.

If this is your only actioncam, you might be forgiven for thinking it's "good for the price", which is what people often say of it. But it isn't good for the price. Yes, it's extremely cheap - I was lured in at a mere £30! But if it's so useless and bad that you never use it, it's still a waste of £30.I tried this as a dashcam/helmet cam several times in different UK weather conditions. It always performed terribly. At 4k there's no stabilization, and the camera's chipset also struggles massively to actually keep up with 4k bandwidth, so that's a waste of time. At 1080p the framerate is smooth but the stabilization is really poor, barely making a difference.The worst thing is the sensor quality. White balance is totally off no matter what setting you use, and the dynamic range is terrible - any amount of sky in your shot, and the ground level is completely blacked out (see attached photos).This isn't good even by the standard of no-brand cheapo action cams; I have also attached a sample of my old Dazzne P2HD, a similar 2013 cheapo (sadly no longer available), to show how much better a cheap sensor's dynamic range can be. General light levels are also really low, and even in bright conditions the image is noticeably darker than with other cameras.Don't settle for this piece of rubbish. Even for £30 it is performing badly.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  after using this in various modes & conditions for a month, I can say, for the price (£38) you get a lot, you get dust covers, underwater covers, 2 batterys, external mic (which is rare). & enough adaptors to connect it to just about anything.records in 4k 30fps 2k, 1k (HD) 60fps or less , the lowest is 720p at up to 120 fps. also takes 20mp photos.video is recorded at H.264 format, so can record a lot even in 4k before filling up the micro SD card. (note as it uses fat32, once it gets to 4gb it will start recording another file, so you'd need to join them up).the EIS antishake is quite poor, makes the image seem wobbly & you might prefer to turn it off.also shooting in low light seemed to be a problem (indoors at least) which can be mitigated a certain amount by adjusting the white balance in the menu. but seems good outdoors (which is what you probably will use it for).interestingly, you can use it as a dash cam, mount it in the car & set the option up in the menu, and it will record a 3 minute loop (so doesnt fill up the memory card).the fisheye lens means you can get really close without worrying if its in the shot & for the price, your likely to be more brave with it than a £200+ go-pro.its very light and small.Overall im very happy for the price. not perfect, but I think for the price point it is good value. If you are thinking of experimenting with a action cam, but dont want to splash the big cash, this is a good entry point.I recommend it.
