Griffin iClear Armband Case with Clip for iPod nano 5th Gen (Black/Clear) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I have gone through two of these, and was so happy to see them come available again that I just ordered two more (one as a back-up). That's not an indictment of their quality. I just put them through a beating on a regular basis.I have to admit up front that I have NEVER used the arm band. So I can't attest to how well it works. But the case itself is very durable (I've dropped my Nano more times than I care to admit, and it's doing just fine). What I love about the case is the belt clip (which is how it also attaches to the arm band). It's getting hard to find cases for these older Nanos that have the belt clip. But this one works great. It also doubles as a stand if you need your nano to stand up.The two downsides:While the case does have openings in the bottom to allow access to the ports without taking the case off, they aren't the biggest openings. My earbud of choice has a plug that's just a tad too big for the hole. So I trim the plastic on the plug just a bit and it works fine. I imagine many other kinds of earbuds don't have this issue, and I find it a small price to pay.The other downside is that after you put enough milage on the case it may want to pop apart if severely jarred. But again, this was after a lot of wear and tear.Overall, I highly recommend this case -- especially if you like having a belt clip. And at this price (currently $5.99) you can't go wrong.

A nice case overall. I really like how the set up keeps the iPod way from your arm. I sweat a lot when I run and I have had armbands in the past that I sweat straight through and I am surprised my iPod survived. You don't have that problem here because the case keeps the iPod away from your arm. The armband itself is comfortable. The case is effective too. There are a few annoyances and that is why I can only give it 4 stars (almost gave it 3, but I as annoying as a couple things are, it is still a great case). The case is very hard to get off the armband. At least you don't have to worry about it falling off, but because of the way it clips to the arm band you can just pinch the clip and slide it off like I would expect. It also doesn't clasp together as well as I think it should. The case splits in the middle to slip the iPod in, and then it clips back together. It has come apart mid run before because it doesn't clip very tight. It is not a regular occurrence though, and my iPod din't go crashing down because it was attached to my headphones. The last issue is the clip is not easily removable. I was hoping I could remove the clip and still have the hard case on, like it advertises, but I can't. When you try to take the clip off it sounds like th case may break. I opted to not try any more. All that said, I bought the case for running and that is what I use it for and it works great. I leave it attached to the arm band and remove the iPod from the case when I want to use it without the arm band. I would recommend it and can't complain too much because of the price.Another thing to note. I bought this for my iPod Nano 4G. It fits fine, with only 2 issues. The scroll wheel doesn't line up perfect, but it is close enough that it is still usable. Also, my headphone jack wouldn't plug all the way in. It went in far enough, but got caught on the case (Apple headphones). They went in far enough for sound, but not far enough for the controls on the wire. I took a drill and removed some plastic, problem solved. Other than that, this works fine for the 4G.

As most of the reviewers of this item, I must give it 5 stars.I read quite a few reviews of this and other similar items before deciding to go with this iPod Nano armband. The key features that swayed me in the direction of this item were the easily accessible clear protective shell (with a clip!!) and a non-bulky armband. Let's just say that this armband isn't for you if you'd like to sport the Terminator look. The armband was designed with simplicity and function in mind. It doesn't slip off or feel like an inflated BP cuff (but then again, I am a female with a pretty small arm. What biceps? :p) However, if you are a weight-lifting machine, then you might want to go for something with a bit longer band (and at this point you probably look like Terminator anyway, so this slim armband won't do your guns of steel justice. No, I said "guns"; I don't know where you are planning on wearing your iPod...). Bad humor aside, the actual length of the band in its relaxed state is about 10.5"-- that's not including the extra couple of inches for velcroing (is that even a word?) it together and not including the front "buckle" part where the iPod is actually clipped on. Looks like plenty of room for a decent-sized arm. And don't forget that the band is stretchy.Bottom line: It looks, works and feels great.One more thing-- I've read reviews in which avid athletes were concerned with perspiration soaking through the fabric and causing issues with the iPod... (let me just say that such complaints put my workout to shame..). I don't foresee that happening, seeing as how the clip creates a barrier between the iPod and your arm. Unless you can sweat through padded fabric and a plastic clip, your unit should be ok. Speaking of the clip: you can throw the armband away if you don't like it and simply use the clip. Surely, that would be a ridiculous waste of money, but whatever works...May this armband get you through many rigorous (or downright lazy) workouts! ;)

My wife used it for many years now and it is still being used. Great product.

hallo, diese hülle passt wunderbar für den nano der 5generation. anschlüsse sind alle nutzbar. klickwheel problemlos nutzbar da es frei ist. für sport/ fitnessstudio und jogging super zu gebrauchen. 1 stern abzug da man aufs klickwhlle ne folie hätte einarbeiten können um es komplett vor schweiss und regen zu schützen
