Really useful when I'd hurt my back.
This is a decent product, not badly priced, and arrived quickly - which was useful, given that I hadn't got the confidence to leave the house. It's nicely stable, so easy to walk with, and reassuring. It's also reasonably lightweight, and easy to carry on days when it's not really being used, but appropriate to have it (getting better, some bits of my walk were slippery after rain, so some places I wanted it). Somehow, it manages not to get too muddy, either, and being a tripod, it can just stand on the doormat to dry off. And of course it looks 'healthcare' rather than 'old lady', which is just better! Given the choice between this, and staying home, easy decision!

The ultimate Mr Stick
This is my best stick yet! - the handle as good as it gets and the wide, three pod base makes it stable.I am sitting at home, waiting for a hip replacement that might take months or years to materialise, unable to walk unsupported - so sticks are important. Not least because if you get the stick wrong, your upper limbs are at risk. I have seen a lot of people whose shoulders, elbows and hands have been wrecked by the wrong walking aid.I am relatively lucky - I have a decent set of shoulders - which means that I can support myself with my arms - just! Even so, I have found that it doesn't take much to damage my joints - spine, shoulders, elbows and hands - which are of course critical given that I can't actually walk.An unstable stick puts stress on all the joints on your arms and shoulder - for a number of reasons, the stick continually moves and with the movement it can tear the muscles and put a strain on joints. It is heart breaking to see the number of people who are using elbow crutches. These are unstable walking aids that encourage people to weight through a bent arm, and more likely than not - should they fall, lead to a dislocated shoulder. in addition people are encouraged/ not discouraged from using a single crutchNonetheless, I have had shoulder injuries, elbow and hand problems. These injuries if not caused by unstable sticks, are worsened by the wrong stick. The most popular tetrapod stick is not stable - because four pods are not as stable three.Symmetrical walking - if you have one stick, you almost certainly need a second one. It is important to walk symmetrically lest the underlying condition is worsened by a spiral of assymmetry. I also have a rolator walking frame, with wheels, a seat and a basket. This is a good stable walking frame, but is impossible on public transport.Given that I am likely to need sticks for some months / years to come, it is important to get the right sticks - stable, with a decent hand grip that you can use with straight arms and to protect your arms. It is also important to use a symmetrical walking aid, so that you don't worsen the problem by adding in a scoliosisThis stick ticks all of the boxes!! - you need two not one and use a satchel or small rucksack to carry your thingsSo don't get one! Get Two!!

Small
Ordered thinking it was the stronger bigger version nope so beware although it’s practical and easy to hold it’s very light so I would say buy 2
