Excellent product.
I bought this to help disguise some minor rust appearing along the sills of a 12 year old car. Thanks to a marvellous bit of luck the light blue Rust-oleum was a very close match to the car's original paint colour. It was easy to apply and thanks to the close colour-match it looks great. More importantly, there is no sign of any rust re-appearing although it is still early days. Overall I am really impressed and happy to recommend it.

Great paint. Watch for reactions.
This stuff is awesome. YouTube videos about roller painting cars and vans etc. Regardless of automotive applications, if you are considering Hammerite, forget it. Just buy this. However one word of caution, do not apply neat to seam sealer/tiger seal etc. Use a proper red oxide primer first. Also make sure that this is the last paint you apply - it will react with everything except if you prime first or indeed over it - any rustoleum that you want to overcoat ie: scenario;red oxide, rustoleum then stonechip = reaction.Great paint though and thins and cleans with traditional white spirit which is an absolute plus.

Super finish on factory painted uPVC front door
Used to re-paint my uPVC front door which had weathered beyond belief, it was a factory finish browny red. This paint came up top for painting or repainting doors and the test piece I prepared went well - my only criticism was the drying time which I thought was reasonably fast, ideal for a front door. I painted at 07:00 in the morning and the paint was still tacky 12 hours later although it was touch dry. The coverage is good and you do need to prep well with a wood effect finish door to remove all contaminants and dust. End result is pretty good although it could really do with a second coat, my fault not the paints.

Very good coverage, matt finish?
Wouldn't necessarily say it has a matt finish when applied to previously painted wrought ironwork, more gloss, but still more than happy with it. It seems to go a long way, which means i bought a lot more than i needed. I have since noticed that the finish (matt versus gloss) seems to depend on the surface material being painted, which is a bit odd. Nonetheless, overall very happy with this paint. Takes about 24h to dry completely (on ironwork).

Pleased with paint for the price
I've just finished painting a plastic coated front door. I used the small tin and two coats later there's still a third of a tin left. It is a thin consistency paint so drips a little if you overload the brush but I personally needed this consistency to cover the area easily. I used SLATE GREY and I am slightly disappointed as it is alot lighter than I thought it would be given its description and the colour on the front. Nevertheless the finish and end result outweighs this. I might go for dark grey if I can't live with it but I'm really happy and would recommend this for anyone painting a plastic coated door. After just one coat it would have been fine but I wanted to touch up a few places. It dries really quickly too. Have added a photo to help others. To note this was a dark blue painted door previously.

Oh dear lord it smells so bad! Gorgeous colour though...
OK, so let me say that I'm not inexperienced at painting, and have used all kinds of paints, but THIS? This has to be the worst. It is runny, which means you really have to be careful with drips, and it dries literally as you are putting it on the surface, which makes it really difficult to get the paint on evenly and without brush marks. I did the first coat and it didn't completely cover the white kitchen cupboard door in one coat. It was patchy in coverage, but I knew that before it dried. It took what felt like forever to dry enough to feel comfortable to shut the door. It feels lovely when it's dry. It feels like a surface that would be easy to keep clean, which is a plus. The second coat I did this morning is better, but I am definitely going to have to put a third coat on. The good part to that is that the paint is thin and you don't need much.Let's talk about the smell. It's unbelievable. I've never worked with a paint that smelled this bad and made me feel this sick. The room is well ventilated (all the doors and windows are open, despite it being cold outside. Yesterday I painted a door and one of the kitchen drawer fronts and didn't feel like this. I had just finished the second door and thought I might pass out, so cleaned up and left the room, feeling extremely nauseous. It's going to take ages to finish painting the kitchen as there are 13 doors (full standard height) and a set of drawers. Plus I also have the plinths to paint. I'm dreading doing it because of how bad it has made me feel today, but I'm going to have to crack on. I'm going to have to do a little bit each day. However, if I don't feel better than this later on, I might give tomorrow a miss. My dogs don't look impressed either.I recommend you have every window and door in the house open to allow the smell to flow out of as many as possible. If I could afford a face mask I think I would get one, but then you still have to deal with a stinky house, so, better to do it in small tranches. It takes ages to dry too.Having said all of that, I think that when it's done, it will have been worth it. If you're tenacious (and brave!) I'd still recommend this paint. It just has a lot of drawbacks - the worst being the smell.
