I work with really little ones, and I love that they are able to produce really solid and pleasant sounds without too much frustration. The stirring motion goes right along with the "cooking" they are always doing, and really helps to draw some of the less musical students in with its unique sound. I did have one of the the flaps fall cleanly off for no reason, so I am a bit worried about durability, but I was able to simply superglue it back on so nothing toooooo terrible. I would recommend this for anyone who like really cool sounding instruments to just play around with. My four stars is only for the constant supervision I feel is necessary with it, but that won't concern a lot of you, so bump it up to five.

A nice, fun instrument. It was larger than I expected, but that's good. Seems very durable. Students enjoy the sound when stirring, although the 8 tongues aren't exactly pitched - the largest actually sounds higher to my ears, and 2 others sound out of order. But for the price, it's good quality. I use it in my elementary music class.

Great gift!

I currently substitute teach and there are several tools that are essential to classroom order. The first is being able to quickly remember student names and the second tool is to have a device that calls everyone to attention quickly. I had tried flicking the lights, raising my voice, and pounding a drum. The students talked in the dark, spoke over my voice, and imitated the drum (creating even more noise). After reviewing the Responsive Classroom's website and searching for tools on classroom order, I found the recommendation for a chime. It has been amazing. The sound is not something that a student can replicate with their hands or voice and something that time after time immediately draws students to attention in a quick manner. I recommend it highly.

My 9 month old baby loves this drum! I wasn't expecting the drum to be translucent, but actually my son really likes peering through. Could have a better sound, but my baby doesn't care. It's not too loud either. Overall very happy with this purchase.

I saw this used as a musical way to get the class' attention- when the class is working and talking in their groups or partners, the teacher (or student) stirs this instrument and everyone sums up what they have to say or do and then they listen. It has a wonderful ring to it when used. It is the most unique musical instrument I have ever seen and it is so much better than counting down or from blowing a whistle or ringing a bell. VERY effective and the kids just love it! (they also love to play it- hint hint :-))

The best long resonance than any other chime bar I’ve heard. Great for clearing crystals and stagnant energies around the body, home and meditation spaces.
