Michelle Yeoh steals the show!
I kept borrowing this movie from my library so much, I decided to buy my own copy!Based on the novel by Kevin Kwan, it follows New-Yorker Rachel Chu as she meets her boyfriend's family in Singapore for the first time. Some of the family are welcoming, while others clearly dislike her for her lack of wealth.Michelle Yeoh is fantastic as the boyfriend's disapproving mother.

Really enjoyed this movie
I lived in Singapore for several years and my wife is also Asian but I think that this added to my enjoyment of this movie. I realise it was exaggerated and fun but I could see a lot of truth in many parts, there are a lot of very clever rich people in Asia and they may often be underestimated or misunderstood by us in the West. Its very well acted and I thought Michelle Yeoh especially was very good. Sort of movie I will watch more than once

Sumptuous Singaporean Glamour
This has become one of my most recent favourite films. Quite magnificent cast, beautiful locations and billionaire glamour. The two leads are believable and beautiful. The family feud is central to the plot and is plausible: Michelle Yo plays the matriarch perfectly. Sumptuous and fun

Love this film
If you like rom-coms and happy endings, this is a great film. I have been to Singapore quite recently, and it is filmed mainly there. Brought back lovely memories as well as a humorous and romantic film. I would recommend it.

Lovely film
This is such a lovely film; one of my favourites of all time. The Blu-ray looks fantastic, too, as expected. The film gives a good insight into other cultures and other social statures. It shows you the importance of friends and family. I'd argue the most important message of the film is to not judge others before you know them. Give everyone a chance.

the ultimate travel advert
Its quite awesome to see all this Singaporean bling in 4k ultra, and it includes an amazing sequence on the only Michelin starred street food in the world. The story is quite sweet, and has the added attractions of Michelle Yeoh, and Gemma Chan to increase the watchable quotient. Although the heroine is pretty impressive and believable, the chap is just a bit tailors dummy. There should be a prize of a trip to Singapore for best review or something.
