I sent this as a gift to someone in a locked drug dependency treatment facility. She was very depressed and going through a terrible time. She wrote me after reading the book and said it was the first time in months she had really laughed. She said she had laughed so hard she cried real tears and couldn't say enough nice things about the book. She shared it with several friends who also loved it.

hector's looking for a date...
"whiskerslist: the kitty classifieds" is a laugh-out-loud read. I couldn't put it down. If you're familiar with Craigslist and its various quirks then you'll find this book a delight. As a cat lover and owner, I could readily identify with many of the ads and discussions in the book! Probably why I found it so hilarious.I like to think that my cat and his "friends" actually think like this. Angie truly has a way with humor and an understanding of cats and their owners. The personals ads are especially funny and reservedly raunchy enough at times to reflect the reality that would be a Craigslist for cats. When the owners are away, the cats will play... and sell... and debate. The book is a great conversation piece as well and I'm happy to have it in my collection.

Whiskerslist is the Feline Classifieds
"Whiskerslist: the kitty classifieds" by Angie Bailey, gets four paws and a tail up from D's Bookshelves and Kitty Tales. This book, published by Running Press, is the feline answer to the online classifieds, Craigslist. In it, you can find everything from the Wallinator, who rents himself out as part-time pet in exchange for ham, to an ad for an Advanced Yoga Class for cats. Some of the ads include used toilet paper rolls given away for free, and ads asking for help from cats who have certain hobbies, such as swatting puzzle pieces around the room. Peppered through "Whiskerslist", are ads from Mittens McMullen, Attorney at Law. He advertises for all kinds of cases, such as disturbance of the peace and invasion of privacy. His slogan is "Extending My Claws...So You Don't Have To". Besides ads of all kinds, "Whiskerslist" offers forums where cats can voice their opinions on all subjects related to cats. Of course, the book would not be complete without personal ads, which include cats that are looking for special relationships.Ms. Bailey is the award-winning writer of the "Catladyland" blog. This blog won the 2011 Pettie Award for the Funniest Pet Blog/Blogger. On Angie's blog, among other deliriously funny things, you can find Cat Truths, which I am sure, are inspired by Phoebe, Cosmo and Saffy (her smart cats). This writer's first-hand experience on cat behavior comes shining through in both, "Whiskerslist" and "Catladyland.I found "Whiskerslist: the kitty classifieds" wildly funny from the first page to the last; and I would not hesitate to suggest this 205-page book of hilarious ads to anyone, especially cat lovers. Next time that you are on your computer, search for whiskerslist.com, if you dare. Don't be surprised to see an ad with your cat's picture on it looking for anything from a friend with which to lie in the sun, to a new human with which to replace you.

It's OK. Could be Better.
It's not as funny as the article of the author that I read which made me want to support her work. It will make you smile though as you flip through.

Now I know why my cat loves my computer!
A hilarious, and fun satire of a certain online service.... A wonderful collection of “posts” that will delight anyone who has visited Craigslist and who loves cats. Angie is a great humorist who also does one of my favorite cartoons, “Texts From Mittens.”

Still chuckling....
You probably need to be both a user of Craigslist and a cat fancier to "get" the humor in this book. With those caveats, this book will have you going "oh yes" frequently! and also making sure that your own cat does NOT have access to your phone!!!

Very a-meowsing.
A fun view into the secret lives of our furry friends. This book makes a great gift to a cat-lover in your life, or to treat yourself to a few laughs. Easy to dip in and out of this book, so handy when your time is limited.

not what i was expecting
The book wasn't what I was expecting. The cat forums were my favorite part of the book. Should be more forums and maybe make a book on phone text from cats.
