What I Know Now: Letters to My Younger Self

Very good book, finished it quickly
Very good book, finished it quickly. The first half of the book contained the best content, by far. The latter half was so-so. Maya Angelou, Olympia Dukasis and Jane Kazmerack had the most relatable and profound letters. It was difficult to relate to some of them due to different life experiences but I plan to keep this book and the-read as time goes on... It was obviously written at least a couple years ago, if not a decade, and seems timeless - life experience is a timeless subject. If I have a daughter one day, I'll ask her to read this; she probably won't want to until her late-20s or so, the time when life has knocked you down and you've picked yourself up a couple times...

A wonderful read
We should all take the time to reflect on what we have learned through the years. And reminisce about how naive we once were. It took courage for these women to share their most vulnerable moment and I thank them for that. Their stories have helped me in accept the beauty of maturing and accepting who I have become. I have given this book as a gift to several girlfriends for their birthdays. I just wish I would have had the foresight to read a book like this when I was younger...but then again, I may not have really understood it.

Interesting concept
This was a very interesting concept, and led to some good discussion at the bookclub. I gave it 3 stars because the content was sporadic. Some of the letters were great and inspiring, and some were inane. (Vanna White---PLEASE!). I thought that the letters would be more insightful, too many were about being hopeful, and Mr. Right is waiting for you. I most enjoyed the letters from the older women, they tended to be the most thoughtful. Younger women did not seem to have enough perspective on life to be writing back 10-20 years.

Full of wisdom and food for thought
Wow did I need to read this right now. I’ve been struggling with some issues and these letters put things into perspective. Thank you for encouraging so many people to participate.

Could be Better
I was looking forward to reading this. I have always been intrigued by the idea of letters to yourself and how life would turn out if you only knew then what you know now. But this book was too short and the letters weren't what I was hoping for. There were good parts, but I felt like the book was rushed and cut-off. Not enough meat on these bones.

Easy read, but found myself wanting more.
I have read books before in which it is a compilation of other people's stories, and I didn't like the way this one was laid out. I would have liked that the intro to each letter be writtenby the person writing the letter. If not, then maybe a longer story? I felt myself wishing this book hadn't been so quick and simple to read.

Meh! Not really inspiring! Just successful women telling their younger selves how great they will become! Literally
I got this book because Alicia Keys has posted about it.I expected to be inspired but really they women are just telling their younger selves how great they will become and to keep going when things are rough! Nothing too interesting mentioned!

A Good worthwhile read
So far it is a good book. I'm still at this moment reading it. The letters are so different to each other because they're coming from women from different walks of life and personalities and interests. I def recommend this book to someone who wants to understand others a bit better and learn from others how to navigate through life's obstacles

For Every Woman
Really enjoyable. I would reccommend to every woman at every age. The letters that strike me now may not be the ones which hit me in twenty years time. A beautiful project.

Great read!
This book is really wonderful. It is so interesting reading what other people have gone though in their careers and lives, reflecting what they would do different. I was even inspired to write a letter to myself!
