new team, new direction, not as awesome
In this volume, a new team quickly wraps up the D.E.O. arc, introduces new villains-of-the-month, and lets Kate's personal life fall apart. It makes sense to stir things up - after all, graphic novels are like soap operas in that there are always sudden changes and crises in order to keep the drama level high. (At least that's the impression of soap operas I received by passive exposure as a child. Am I wrong?) I'm ok with that. This volume is good but not marvelous. It felt kind of like Batgirl, Volume 2: Knightfall Descends, where the character's personal life is interesting but the villains are mediocre.

Great Stories, Awesome Artwork
In Webs there's the conclusion for the previous trade paperback, an awesome story revolving around art theft, and then the beginnings of another supernatural storyline (this one involving vampires) that leaves off on a cliffhanger. Also, the artwork continues to be awesome.

No Hardcover editions anymore.
Great stories, honestly if you've Liked Batwoman this far you will like the stories inside of this. The only reason I'm giving it a 3/5 is that DC decided to stop production of Batwoman Hardcovers. When I pre-ordered it was still a hardcover and when I got it today it was paperback, looked online, sure enough no more Hardcovers for Batwoman. (Oddly there are no longer making Hardcovers of Batman Eternal either) Wish they'd make them hardcover. Batwoman I've had hardcover up until now, and I was hoping to have binding consistency.Initially I gave this review a 4/5 because when I pre-ordered it was supposed to be hardcover. I'm changing it to 3/5 as the writing went downhill from the change in Staff at DC. I now understand why it didn't get the hardcover treatment but I am more disappointed in the lack of quality in content and showmanship of this work. I have not gotten a 6th volume because of the drop in quality by DC. Vert sad to see this done to Batwoman.

What happened?
I bought this to complete my new 52 run of Batwoman. This story arch is garbage.

Felt forced.
If you've read the other four already and are looking for a conclusion: sorry. This one goes off the rails from previous ones. Rather than continue with the narrative that had been established, the new writers just seemed to throw some stuff at the wall.Batwoman is different in this one as well. You get some pretty corny/cheesy one-liners that don't really agree with the tone that has been established, and they only get worse in the following volume. This just seemed rushed. I'm sure the writers could have come up with something better if they had more time.

Excellent graphic novel.
Bought as a gift, the recipient is a huge DC comics fan so loves it.

Really good if you're comparing it to other comics. Alright if you're comparing it to the previous volumes.
The new creative team for Batwoman is alright. Not as good as the old one, but not bad either. They had big shoes to fill and things could've gone a lot worse. I read this volume in one sitting and enjoyed it. There are some great two-page spreads in here. However, the art isn't as distinct as before, with more boxy panels and traditional looking art. It still looks nice though. The writing is good. I don't have much to complain about, despite some of the things Kate does here. Her reasoning seems acceptable enough to not roll my eyes over. I'm interested in, and love the characters enough, to keep reading Batwoman. I just hope they know how to make it better after what happened in this volume.

Gelungen.
