Trash
I have ordered Chaco flips every year or 2 for the past decade. Best flip flop I ever had. Then they stopped that product for some reason. This is their closest thing to what they had. It's trash. So loose it falls off your foot, looser out of the box than the last pair I've been wearing for almost 2 years. Also 2x taller. Cheaper foamier feel. It's trash I would never wear it. It's designed for the sun bather, not the hiker, as was why I bought the other sandal to begin with. I bought it to use everyday for walking ANYWHERE including up mountains and running. Why did you get rid of a good thing?

Chaco no longer makes a hiking flip flop
Over the past ten years Chaco Ecotread Flips are probably my most-worn footwear. I love them. When I lost my most recent pair, I bought these as a replacement. Unfortunately, the complaints hundreds of other users have posted are legitimate. The straps are so extraordinarily loose that these are no longer useful as hiking sandals. I also tried out the Marshalls, same problem. They fall off your feet very easily because the straps are too long. Chaco knows how to make good sandals, they did it for 30 years, so this wasn't an accident. They chose to abandon hikers and pursue the mainstream. What a shame. Let's hope they don't "update" the Z sandals next.

Bring back the Ecotreads!
I just lost my old pair of eco treads so I went shopping for a new pair. I got a zebra stripe pair of playas because they were cheap... which is my first complaint, why would you make these hideous bands Chaco? The only reason they are acceptable is because its subtle, but what happened to... just black?Second complaint is the fit. IMO the size is the same but the band is much looser. They are OK, but not as secure as ecotreads. Not an improvement! Also the ridges on the sole are just decoration now. The ecotread sole groves were deep enough to keep my feet from stinking by allowing air flow.Third complaint is the sole. This is not the robust sole of the ecotread, it is a medium density closed cell foam that will crush and deteriorate quickly. If I wanted a compliant some I would be buying cheap loafer flops. I will not pay Chaco prices for a metro flop. Also, one sole is very notably stiffer than the other which is uncomfortable.I wanted an outdoor sports flip flop, but I got a stupid looking, metro, lounge flip instead. They are fine for $30 but they are not $70 worth like the ecotreads were. I recommend saving money and buying Spenco flops instead. They are equal quality, but half the price.

Feels like a 2x4.
If you’re used to the EcoTread sandal you’ll probably hate this sandal. It’s way thicker at the ball of your foot than the Eco which means it doesn’t flex very well and feels like boards under your feet. I am returning these and will have to figure out where to get EcoTreads now that they have discontinued them.

Quality not up to snuff compared to old Chacos
I've worn this style of chacos for over 10 years and this was probably my 4th or 5th pair. Theyve held up really well and when the weather is warm, I'll wear almost every day from March until November. I've loved every pair up until now because of their durability, comfort and arch support, and convenience. I've always worn the same size as I'm around a 9.5 and they've always recommended ordering the next size up if in between. Up until now that always worked. The strapping was sufficiently snug and my foot remained in place. I expected the same out of these however two things prevent that: the web straps are way too loose. Upon initial wearing, the strap on one foot was a little large and the other was way too loose. I could fit a finger in between the strap and my foot. As theyve broken in, they've both become looser. Also the footbed seems to be a harder synthetic than previous editions and less friction so there's less traction between my foot and the flipflop than there is with the sandal and the ground. I've come out of them multiple times in one week. I had high expectations based on brand loyalty and past experiences, but can't recommend these.

Still a good flop but no longer the standard bearer for durability in flipflops
These are good flips for general use. They used to be the gold standard in durability for flip-flops. I work on the river and go out for two weeks at a time, unfortunately chaco has moved their production to China and quality has slipped. We're talking about me living in these things all summer and putting them thru some use that goes beyond pretty much any other conditions most pairs see. Honestly most of us still wear em so I can't ding em too hard, but all of us in the river guiding community are sad that chaco has let us down. We loved and swore by you chaco.

going up a half size was too much
I often go up to an 11 normally with shoes but I think I am usually a ten and a half with flip flops. I have to return these as the flip flop. at size 11, felt cumbersome on my feet.. I may try the size 10 but most likely I will j just keep my old trusty flip flops a few more years. But I knew right away that I was not going to be able to wear these and it seems absolutely vital to make half sizes for flip flops. But I would say, if anything, go down a size if you want to try these.

Chaco changed sizing on Shoes- BEWARE
Ive been buying Chaco for 20 years or more. This time, they don't fit. Chaco told me they changed the fit to make them looser.. As a result they dont fit like the older ones. I gave them to another family member who tripped due to the same loose fit. I am not sure what to do. Over the last several weeks Ive been emailing Chaco, and missed the opportunity to return them to Amazon..
