Floor nurse here. Have always loved Danskos, still love Danskos. Slightly wide across the forefoot but I expected that and I compensate with slightly cushy socks. My feet are happy in these for my 12 hour shift plus my 30 minute walk home.First time I ordered this lighter color (black and dark brown before)... I like the honey, and get lots of compliments.

The. Best.
I've been in baking school for a couple of weeks when I started feeling my regular "best" shoes started failing. With 7 hrs on my feet and constantly moving, at the end of the day my feet felt severely punished and achy. Someone with commercial kitchen experience recommended these shoes, and after trying them on at a local store, I decided to give them a try. What an ENORMOUS difference they make! I don't have any foot pain, fatigue or discomfort. My feet are not wet. I don't get blisters. Nothing hurts anywhere. My right foot is just a tiny bit more plump, so the right shoe initially had a pressure point on the top of my arch. I saw some reviews complaining about top of the arch pain. That went away in 2 days, when the shoe stretched a tiny bit - and that tiny stretch was enough for the issue to go away completely. I am very pleased. In fact, I checked out a local outlet store and found another pair there at a comparable discounted price, and immediately bought it. I know I'll be wearing them all the time.Take it from a person who is heavy set, not super young, and has plantar fasciitis in one foot. Please note that these shoes tend to run small, so I recommend trying them on for a correct size that works for YOU, and then purchase online for better pricing.Yes, you can wear them without socks - your feet won't feel constantly wet.No, the "rocking motion" is not awkward and to me it's barely noticeableNo, the constantly sliding back of the shoe doesn't rub the back of the ankleNo, the shoes aren't sliding loose, if they are, you are in the wrong size.Yes, they are heavy, but they also stabilize your foot and keep it steady, so you'll never have "fall to the side" stance which eventually kills any shoe.Yes, they are leather in and outYes, I love them very much and highly recommend to those who find themselves on their feet hours at a time. No, they don't slide on wet surfaces, but yes, they will slide on surfaces covered with dry flour just like any other shoe.

Buy the tooled leather clog not the patent leather.
Awesome Danskos! Highly recommend the tooled leather model over the patent leather. I’m a grocery store employee on my feet all day and there was no break in period needed for these, whereas Patent leather model were agonizing for weeks. I’m a size 6-7 wide and ordered a 37wide and they fit perfectly. I’m so happy. I wasn’t going to purchase this type of shoe again after pain from patent leather model. Thankfully, one of my coworkers bought these tooled leather ones and loved them. She as well as several others in my store had pain issues with patent leather model. These are great! Highly recommend, super happy, thank you Dansko for getting this shoe right!

Best shoes you’ll ever own, after you break them in!!!
So, before buying any dansko clogs, there are a few things you need to know- or you will not love your shoes. First, you need to order a size larger than you normally wear, there is supposed to be extra room. Second, these shoes need to be broken in, because they are made out of strong leather, and it can take a month to break them in, depending on how often you wear them. Also, my understanding is that they are hand made, that’s why identical pairs fit differently. Now with that being said, after ordering the correct size, and they are broken in- these will be the best most comfortable shoes you ever own. I got these shoes as part of my nursing school uniform. I was so excited when I got them, I made the mistake of wearing them on a double shift as a CNA. By the middle of my first shift I was cursing out my nurse friends for suggesting I get these clogs. They were tight, stiff and my feet were swollen. I was at work and had no other option but to ride it out. That’s when they told me about the break in period. By the end of my last shift I was taking turns standing on one foot to give the other a rest, like a flamingo! After that I would wear them when I ran errands or around the house. I slowly wore them more often and got through it. It was hard, I even offered people money to break them in for me! Now, i wear them everywhere all the time! When I buy another pair I will just take them to a cobbler to be broken in.Now, with that being said, I swear these shoes are the most comfortable shoes once they are broken in. I once had to walk home from nursing school, 8 miles, in these shoes. Not once did I have to stop, my feet felt better than if I had appropriate sneakers on. To the point I started doing my regular walking in them! These shoes will last forever and you will love them!! Just find a cobbler to stretch the leather.

Questioning My Loyalty
I have been a big fan of Dansko for over 20 years. I've had pairs of the Professional clogs that have lasted years and years and other than a couple of barely visible scuffs, they have looked great. This most recent pair, though, has worn out like no other pair I have ever owned. I guess my toes rub sometimes when I walk. I've never noticed in any other pair of shoes, but this recent pair of Dansko clogs has shown that. Have you experienced this breakdown of the materials before? I believe they have changed the "leather" that they use. I will say Dansko customer service was great, but if this happens to my new pair, I won't be buying them anymore.

i'm disappointed it broke under 10 months of wear
Needed to quickly help stretch it A pinch but they are perfect. 2 weeks ish to get used to. Love them ... my third pair in 15 ish years.Edit: January 2019.... I've had these less than a year... how is there already a hole. Either the quality of your shoes has really been lost. A pair of these clogs usually last me 3 to 5 years. I'm really disappointed. I save up for these. For 164$ it should last longer. I've worn this brand clogs for years.

A very sturdy supportive, stable shoe
Beautiful shoe. I have had them before and wore them out. I would highly recommend to people who need a rigid shoe. They are hard and built for stability. They are extremely comfortable. Good for people who need a harder bottom shoe. I have hallux rigidus - my big toe cannot move. A flexible shoe is excruciatingly painful. This shoe is built for those who work on their feet or who have developed issues from being on their feet.

Disappointed
I have purchased Dansko shoes from the actually retailer before and was able to get a good fit. I ordered the same size thinking it would fit the same but these shoes are snug on the tops of my feet. I was disappointed in the finish as the have already started to show signs of wear after a month and a half.
