Works okay. Very easy to assemble and easy to use. It sticks every once in awhile. But Works for what I need it for. Faster than doing by hand. Happy with it.

This product is fantastic. It has saved me from unwinding yarn barf for hours. I received this as a gift and I have used it almost every day. It is therapeutic to make yarn cakes, but also beneficial. This product is super sturdy. A bit confusing at first on how to load the yarn. I had to look at the directions every time I did it for a while, but once I got the hang of it- yarn cakes baking! I originally received a cheap plastic one and let me tell you, this yarn winder is industrial. The gears are heavy and strong. It is easy to set up and take down if necessary. I leave it attached to a small table. No groove marks from the clamp. Completely temporary if need be. Transportable,

Love love love that this winds large cakes but it gets stuck at a certain spot every rotation if there is yarn on it. We’ve tried lubricant. But it spins fine when there is no yarn, not catching anywhere that we can tell. So it makes it kind of useless. Only works if you move really slow and hold the perfect tension. I can wind by hand faster. Wish I would have just spent the extra money and got the one from KnitPicks.

Love this winder!! Heavy duty, well built and works awesome with any yarn!! I’m so glad I decided to spend the small amount of additional money to purchase this one!! Was only a fraction more than the plastic ones and the difference in the performance of the two wonders is insurmountable! Take it from me , u buy plastic ones that are almost as much as this one lol, sorry but your throwing your money out the window, I know because I did it for real!! Hopefully this will help people to not make the same mistake, again ty Amazon and peace out lol

Seems okay. The yarn guide piece isn’t sturdy and seems to flop around a lot while winding even with the washer in the correct spot. I also think I may have gotten a used one because it’s dirty in places & it was packaged odd.

it cranks really smoothly. rolled a whole 4oz skein of worsted (4) into one big ball. my electric winder would have only done half of it. there will be fewer joins and tails in my knitting now. easy to setup. now to find a hack to use an electric screwdriver or drill to spin it for me.
