DEBBIE MEYER'S Kake-Kut'r Trio - Wood Handles

Purchased this set for my birthday party, and used the sheet cake cutter. Other reviews lead me to believe it was going to be great, and while I was a tad disappointed with the apparent flimsiness of the cutters, they work GREAT! At least the sheet cake cutter does. I'm going by that experience to expect no less from the other two cutters (round cake and log cake cutters). I'm VERY pleased with this purchase, and totally recommend it to anyone who'll be cutting a big cake, or is in charge of their office's cake situation for employees/celebrations.(Edit: November 2017) I have since used the Log and Round cake cutters, and they worked wonderfully. Just remember to HAND WASH these, because frosting/filling/crumbled up cake gets stuck in the corners, and most residential dishwashing machines won't get those clean.

I have a Kake-Kut'r from several years ago that I bought from one of those kitchen stores at an outlet. I liked it so much, I wanted to get the square cutters for cakes. Not wanting to spend a lot, I bought this set thinking I was getting a deal. I've used the pie cutter more than the rest, but for a max of ten cakes, if that, in the 17 months that I've had it. One of the handles broke from using it (not dropped) and I saw how cheap the plastic handles were. I thought, no biggie, I'll use some JB Weld and continue to use it. That worked for a couple of cakes, then it broke again. I thought, nuts, well, I'll try to fix it again, and use as-is for the remainder of the cake I had. Before the cake was finished, the second handle broke. I give up. I really, really wanted to like these, especially as they are the same brand as the one with slightly larger white handles I bought years ago which is still going strong. Alas, while the cutting portion is awesome, the plastic handle quality is extremely poor. Perhaps if they had made the metal run through the handles instead of simply gluing plastic onto the ends, these wouldn't break. If I bought these in a dollar store, I'd expect this, but not at the twenty bucks I paid 17 months ago. I'll continue to use the square ones until they fail too (maybe I'll get lucky and they won't).

These are very handy. We do a lot of cakes at work and a lot of different sizes/shapes. These work very well. I would highly recommend the set.

Used it for my daughter's birthday party and I loved it! It was a hit everyone wanted to know where I got them from but it will be my little secret lol they will make excellent gifts!
