A Great Companion Book for CMB
After reading Color Me Beautiful, I ordered this book because it claimed to have a more updated approach to natural coloring. It delivered. I wouldn't discount CMB completely, however. This groundbreaking book of the 80s still has much to offer and, I think, provides a simpler approach. It's a good beginning, a building block, in other words, while Color Me Confident goes into more detail. I would recommend both books. if you're "over" the way you look, are on the verge of burning the clothes in your closet, and want a new more confident you then these two books will get you there.

Color Typing Books should not include artificial: skin tone, hair color, and hair textures for accuracy
I like how specific this book is, and it does provide excellent color or visual examples of all color (including classic colors to invest in and fashion colors for your skin tone type), features, and fashion pieces that flatter each body type. All pages has quality color printing. This book gives a deeper description of your color type than Color Me Beautiful by Carole Jackson, Reinvent Yourself with Color Me Beautiful 4 Seasons of Color, Makeup, & Style by JoAnne Richmond, and Always in Style 2nd Edition (particular in body lines in clothing for your body line type). However, I am still having a hard time finding my color type. However, there is one thing this book needs to work on, is not use women with artificial tans, artificial hair color, and fake hair weaves/wigs as color type examples. This book should only focus on women who is wearing their real skin tone, real hair color, and realistic hair texture which give better accurate examples (whether their hair is natural or straighten/curled). They failed to provide accurate examples on pages 11, 17, 53, 71, 73, 77, 83, and 103. This book does provide great details and visual illustrations compared to the other 3 books I mention. This is why I give this book get a 4 out of 5.

Good reference book
To find out what colors go with what season, and how to re-designed a new wardrobe of clothes. The book explains the shapes of all sizes and what clothe to wear for that shape. A good reference book.

Acceptable
Much of this is a rehash of other books in the Colour Me range. Updated with some more current photos. Would be useful for someone who has never read the earlier books but added little to my knowledge.A good section on updating the wardrobe for a changing career and some acknowledgement that the working world is becoming more casual. Not intended for tropical climates where a 3 piece outfit just means you have underwear beneath the dress.

Find your match
I have always disliked certain colours and the way they look on me. This book explains why and expands on the concept introduced in the earlier book by Carole Jackson. This book gives some ideas on styles so it is a good stand-alone or compliment to the earlier book.

worht the $
I've read a couple of the older Color Me Beautiful series over the decades. I ordered this one because it said it was updated and had guidelines on body types and the best styles that go with them. I wasn't disappointed. You don't have to read the whole book. Each section first helps guide you in identifying yourself in that section, then you go straight to what's true for you. The rest is great education about everyone if that is wanted, but you can easily read this book with reference to yourself only.I was surprised - I had identified my body shape completely wrong! For decades! And guess what? I actually get to wear the kinds of clothes I've always wanted to wear but thought I was the wrong shape for!!! Glad I bought the book. Lots of info here not handled, or not as clearly, in the other CMB books.

informative for colour choices of clothes
This is a very old book about the art of season colour analysis, its very well explained and probably would allow you to self analyse. Its a ittle old fashioned in the way it is written, but that just made it cute. Does have colour charts for the season and suggestions. Happy with my purchase.

Although most of the information was helpful I really wanted information on how to use the colour swatches to perform a colour assessment. I have purchased a few books on the subject of colours & found there to be similar content.
