I purchased several of these bulbs atthis excellent price, with a flat shipping rate of $7.99. This is a genuine bargain. However, I have seen that these bulbs have suddenlygone up to about $18 again, which is not a bargain. At least the shipping cost is.As a fish-keeper for many years, I have found that there's an enormous disparity in the price of aquatic products from one retail establishment to the next. At times, I have found retailers selling certain aquatic products for as much as an 80% discount.Especially excellent quality items such as aquarium lighting systems and canister filtration systems. So you really need to shop aroundon the Internet in order to become familiar with which aquatic retailers are really worth your while and which to avoid.Amazon.com usually has competitive prices on the aquatic products that they sell. There are times when they are overpriced, however, in most instances their prices are very competitive. And there are times where you can get a tremendous deal on clearance items.For example, I recently purchased two New Old Stock Hagen GLO T-5 22"/ 24 watt lighting systems for just under $80 the pair, includingshipping.These lights used to sell for around $100 each, less bulbs, plus shipping. So I received two T-5 lighting systems for less than the priceof one.Incidentally, if you are interested in purchasing these lighting systems. Hagen has rebranded them under the Fluval name.The original lighting systems have been replaced with 24", 36" and 48" models which are offered in both double and quad T-5 bulbconfigurations.These T-5 linear fluorescent lighting systems now also come with blue LED lights to illuminate your aquarium at night.They are not inexpensive, however, this continuation of the Hagen GLO series of lighting systems under the Fluval brand, also offers high quality construction with reliable ballasts.They are easily some of the best aquatic lighting systems on the market. I ordered two of these to increase the lighting on my 29 gal tank which I'm trying to plant. The 31 watt fit bulbs the 30" fixture perfectly and were well packed, both of which were my main concerns about ordering online.They are bright and at 6700k should be the right spectrum. They seem to do the job, even if I can't figure out how to get the plants to keep growing. More research is required on my part, but the lights are great!

I bought two of these bulbs to replace a couple actinic bulbs that came with my HO light fixture. I've only had for a few days, but so far they work great! Way better than actinic lighting for freshwater!I saw that another person had received broken light bulbs several times In a row. My lights came very well packaged ( wrapped in loads of bubble wrap!!! ) and were NOT broken. So don't let the other guys review deter you. They don't always arrive broken! And if they are it's probably not amazons fault.All in all great product and for a great price.

These lights are great! They are bright and power efficient. They're also much cheaper, overall than compact florescent lights. I have a freshwater planted tank and the plants are as happy as ever with them.The problem I had was with shipping. I sent the lights back to Amazon around 5 times because the box they sent them in was much too large and usually crushed or bent in transit. I sent multiple notes to amazon about the shipping and it didn't seem to make a difference.If at all possible, get the lights at a local store rather than Amazon to ensure the lights are not broken. What an amazing pain!

Hard to find these bulbs for 30 inch fixtures, but price was right and they did get here in one piece. Like the softer glow this gives the tank vs the 10k light. Use one of this and the 10 k for the effect I like to see.

Packaging was very well done to ensure one piece arrival. Bulbs are good quality. Had to replace old ones. These the plants took to right away with c02 system.

Defective product. After multiple attempts at ordering this it has arrived broken every single time, leading me to believe it is in fact a broken light bulb that they are selling.
