Great seat for taller people
This raised toilet seat installs very easily! It is made of a similar quality to other brands such as Carex.I would advise that this really does add 5 inches to the height so it may not be suitable for shorter people. I am 5'7" and short-waisted. This raises my feet off the floor when sitting. I like it and would buy it again.

Pros & Cons...Definitely Helps Post Surgery Though!
Prior to hip replacement surgery, I ordered the Drive Medical Premium Plastic Raised Toilet Seat with Lock and Padded Armrests (Elongated) . The seat arrived promptly and was double boxed.Installation was fairly simple once I got my stubborn toilet seat/lid off my Gerber elongated toilet bowl🚽. It helps to tilt the raised toilet seat in at the back of the bowl first then lower the front part of the unit. Reaching inside the bowl and holding the locking device while turning the knob helps to lock it into place. As far as "Pros" the seat feels very sturdy and doesn't wobble at all. The handles are designed to help push yourself up from the seat and are also structurally sound. Easy to clean but don't use bleach as the white plastic will yellow. Also, has a nice sized opening which helps with post toileting cleanup."Cons" include this unit is too tall for a comfort height (handicap) toilet. I'm 5'10" and my feet do not touch tbe floor when my tush is seated squarely on the seat. Much better for a regular height toilet. Also, the front edge of the seat is uncomfortable (arrow picture). I wish there was more of a slope as it feels like it is digging into my legs where they meet my tush. Finally, be prepared as the plastic is slick (almost feels wet) and can also be cold to the touch.Other than being too tall for a comfort height toilet and the uncomfortable front lip, the Drive Medical Premium Plastic Raised Toilet Seat with Lock and Padded Armrests is a lifesaver when recovering from surgery!12/29/23 Update: My husband removed the raised toilet seat today as I no longer need to use it in my recovery process. A couple of things I'll mention. The underneath side of the unit was filthy if you get my drift. I suspected this could be a problem and other than periodically removing the unit to clean there is no way to reach the bottom of the seat where it sits on top of the toilet bowl. Also, the arms are very difficult to remove once installed. After cleaning and wrestling the arms, the seat is back in the original box and stored away for future use.

If you had to use this for a short time, I guess you could suffer through it. But for long-term, it is way too uncomfortable.
I hate writing negative reviews, but there is no way around it with this particular item. I have knee troubles which make it hard to get up from a seated position, so I use a raised toilet seat. In addition, my mother had hip surgery recently, and is with me a lot, so we both have experience with this seat.First off, the arm rests are ridiculously short. Yes, they are there for you to grab when you are getting up, but they are also there to provide a more comfortable seated experience, AND to keep those with balance issues from tipping over. I have no idea why the manufacturers would put the arm rests so low. Even in using them to hang onto and lift yourself up, it is awkward having to reach down so low to use them to get up. We had a super-comfortable raised toilet seat already on the toilet, but after several years, even with regular cleanings, it was just time for a new one. This Drive Medical one looked very similar, so we ordered it and installed it. Since this wasn't our first seat of this type, we can speak from experience that this is one of the most UNcomfortable seats ever. It's not just the super-low arm rests that make this seat uncomfortable, but the seat itself is not contoured as comfortably as it should be. I'm going to get some pictures to add to this review when I can, but the back part of it is very narrow, and that makes it painful (yes, painful) to sit on. The one we previously used was contoured so well in the right spots that it was still comfortable to sit on. This Drive Medical seat, however, is not contoured enough, and it feels incredibly hard and painful to sit on.Here's the embarrassing part (what has my life become that what I'm about to tell you is even more embarrassing than describing what a disappointment our new raised toilet seat has been!). I skipped the most important step of choosing my purchase and didn't read the reviews of this before I ordered it. Can you believe that? I review my purchases for Amazon because I try to share my buying experiences in the hopes it'll help someone else make more informed choices. And in this case, I totally dropped the ball and didn't check out the reviews. So it's my own fault that I'm stuck with a super-uncomfortable seat, until I can find one that I like better, or figure out how to get a duplicate of the one we just got rid of. So color me embarrassed for making a bad purchasing decision by skipping the reviews, but I sure hope that THIS review will help someone to make a good decision and skip this particular seat. I sure wish I had.

Does the trick!!! It’s very well made.
Great for post op ortho patients. If you don’t have high rise toilet this is great. At a good price. Quality great. Cleans easy. Gies on and off toilet in seconds. Very sturdy. I love the handle bars because all my rooms with toilets have nothing to grab on to. It’s mobile!!!Highly recommend.

Very Great Fit
Sturdy and easy to assemble. Attachment to toilet is very sturdy. Just make sure you do need arms cause medical items aren’t usually returnable.

Check dimensions before you buy because it’s not returnable!
This is a really solid product at a great price point. BUT: Check the dimensions before you buy. Be aware that it adds 5 inches to the height of your toilet bowl. If you already have a comfort (higher) bowl, this product may be too high for you. If you have a bidet, it might not fit. I realized after I ordered that it wasn’t going to fit, but I couldn’t cancel because it had already shipped. I was unable to catch the delivery driver to reject the delivery. Within 30 minutes I was online trying to arrange a return only to find out that this product is not returnable. However, Amazon was great to deal with.

Toilet height
Sturdy construction. Make sure your toilet isn’t to tall (27”). If you ad the booster seat your feet may be dangling in the air. I’m 6 feet tall and my feet were off the ground!

Not as tight as I would like.
You have to clean underneath which can be difficult but we love it.
