Original motor was "supposed" to be silent but never was and lasted 18 years. I was hopeful this would have lasted half the time, around month 3 it began sounding like a helicopter crashing coupled with the squeal of bearings without oil. I'd steer clear of this option and go to the more expensive assembly option that I should have chosen.

I've replaced my LS80SE fan three times in the last twenty years. This is by FAR the quietest of those three, all sourced off Amazon. It is an EXACT replacement. Installation isn't hard, and it's ALMOST impossible to mess it up due to the way the parts only go together one way. Hardest part is attaching the impeller to the shaft. Two tips: (1) put a thin coat of vaseline on the shaft so that it slides on easier, and (2) use a pair of long needle nose pliers to compress the clamp while you slide it in place with a finger. It's tight, but doable. Good luck!

The title lists several models this motor will replace. I ordered it to replace my LS80SE and it wouldn't work. If you read lower in the details it only lists as a replacement for LS100. Misleading / wrong information listed in the title/description.

I needed this motor for an LS80 SE Nutone exhaust fan. It arrived quickly and I had it installed in less than an hour, moving at a leisurely pace.This little motor is exactly the same motor used by Nutone. It even has the same brand "Packard" in the same places. The noise level is reasonable, virtually the same as the original motor. The airflow is similar or slightly better than the original 80 CFM motor that was 16 years old when it failed.Nutone no longer offers replacement parts for the LS80, so I am very grateful that I could find a motor here on Amazon. This is the one to get if you have the three prong power plug. Save all the old mounting hardware, it works perfectly with the new motor.
