The old muffler came off a 13+ yr. old Toro Z4220 with a Kohler Courage 21 engine
I do not know if the specs had changed over time or if it was a manufacturing defect. When i went to bolt the muffler onto my engine it did fit the engine. But, the hole in the support bracket did not matchup with the attachment hole to my mower frame. I had to drill a new hole thru the support bracket so I could attach the insulator piece to the support bracket and then onto my mower frame. After many frustrating moments and choice curse words I finally got it installed and it is firmly in place and hopefully will last another 13 + yrs. ....Good Luck guys!

So far, so good.
Other reviews have complained that this muffler broke like the original after just a few uses. So far mine is holding up well after 5 or more mowings. They have added a steel reinforcement bar that seems to do the trick as long as you are sure to install the rubber isolator which they include in the kit. My only complaint is not with this part supplier but with Toro. This was obviously a design flaw and should have been replaced by Toro for free under a recall campaign instead of costing us $125.

When your muffler rusts out, this one is a fine replacement.
Fit my zero turn mower perfectly and does the trick. My only complaint would be the cost. If my update appears, please disregard it. There is no hole in the muffler, but the engine studs, gasket and nuts are now missing, so apparently, I missed a step involving locking the threads. Fortunately I build two lateral support brackets to hold the muffler in place, as this is a poor designed muffler.

Solid replacement muffler, works well
The part wasn’t too difficult to install. I had to purchase lock washers and nuts separately to complete the installation of my new muffler. The lawnmower started right up and has worked well for the past three weeks.

if this one breaks I'll just wear ear plugs (not that the seller doesn' have a great price, the piece itself is overpriced from
The muffler housing cracked and broke around the weld where the exhaust pipe connects to it. Lasted one summer - installed June `16, broke in May `17. Going to try again, maybe it was a fluke. At this price, if this one breaks I'll just wear ear plugs (not that the seller doesn't have a great price, the piece itself is overpriced from Toro IMHO. I might feel differently if this next one at least lasts a few years.Update - The one installed in May `17 broke in May `18. No impact, no rust, garage kept. Babied. It's just a really bad design, criminally over priced for such a piece of junk. So, ear plugs it is. The engine might burn a valve but so what - the block cracked several years ago. It only runs now thanks to the miracle of chemical sealants to keep the oil in. Both the muffler and the engine stink. Luckily the new mowers no longer use this garbage. I like the rest of the mower enough that when when this one finally dies I'll probably buy another Toro Z.
