Durable and attractive.
I was tired of constantly sleeping with the door open, and my cat always being on the wrong side of the door; so I took a chance on this product. I was not disappointed! As long as you have a drill, jigsaw, and screw driver; this is super easy to install. Just trace the pattern, cut, and make sure you don't screw it in too much. The door was sticking for the first day before I realized it was because I screwed it in so tight, the inner wall popped. Unscrewing it fixed the problem. My cat is trained to come for treats when I ring a bell, so only two days of encouragement and he figured it out. He's smart enough to paw the door to make sure it opens before bashing his head against it, so when we lock it, he knows to cry.My only recommendation is that I measured his belly, which is 7" off the ground, and that seemed a little high, so I cut an inch lower on the second door, and he struggles with that one less.As a note: my cat is a thin 9lbs, and slinks through with no problem.Overall, it's an attractive product that holds up to his fits when he's locked in the room (because we're eating, and he's a scavenger). I'm excited to show it off to all my friends!

Adorable looks and good function
This is about the best looking cat door around, so it was a great addition to my daughter’s bedroom door. The built in lining makes it work for solid or hollow doors, and it looks as good as the pictures when completed. Installation was easy with the provided template. It was a little frustrating getting the screws to align with their holes, but not terrible. I removed the door to do the cutting, and would recommend that extra step. That said, there’s sufficient overlap of the plastic frame versus the template that it would be pretty forgiving of a sloppy cut job. Highly recommended!

Great looking cat door, but door restricts entry too much
This is a great looking cat door and looks much nicer than those standard rectangular cat flaps. It's easy to install as long as you have the proper tools, i.e. a router. I installed it without removing the door, no problem. However, the swinging door restricts the hole to about 2/3 of its actual size due to the way the hinges work. This makes it very difficult for my cat (around 14 lbs, admittedly slightly over the door rating) to go in and out. The door is pretty easily removable, so for now I just removed the door. I'll probably install some transparent vinyl on the door itself to act as a makeshift cover. If they could rework the hinge or make the door slightly larger, this would be a 5 star.

Cat got stuck and injured
We got this door about 6 months ago when my girlfriend moved in with her cats. We installed it in a hollow core door that leads to the storage area where we keep the litter box.Installation was pretty easy with a jigsaw and screwdriver. Just don't clamp the screws down too tightly or it will restrict door movement. It took a couple of days to train the cats to use the door, but it was smooth sailing after that. We've been very pleased with the door and the locking mechanism. Then yesterday it became a problem. Apparently, the cats were playing and swatting at each other. One of the cats went through the door and the other swatted through the opening. The door closed on the cat's paw. The harder she pulled on it, the tighter the door closed. After many scratches and bites we were able to free the cat from the accidental trap. Her paw is swollen to about twice the size of the other and she can't walk on it. Looks like we're breaking coronavirus quarantine to take a cat to the hospital in the morning.Tldr; door is cute and we'll made, but has the potential to injure your pet. 0/10 don't recommend.

Very functional and adorable cat door
This is an adorable cat door. It's functions very well and ads cuteness to any room. Seems sturdy for the money. I like it much better than the boring average cat door. Allows me to keep my cat's litter box inside the utility room and keep the utility room door shut at the same time. The utility room is my cat's bedroom and I can lock the cat door at night so she stays in and does not disturb lightsleepers. In the morning I can unlock it and let her come and go as she pleases throughout the day. It does have two other settings to either lock her out of the utility room or just keep her in the utility room. I personally have no use for the other two settings but it's nice that they are there should the need arise. Having four settings gives it a versatility that seems to me would accommodate any user.

I don’t know..
Well it’s not going that great. It was easy to install and LOOKS really nice. The cats are having trouble with it. The clear parasitic door is kind of thick and heavy. They don’t really get how to push it open with their head. Plus the opening is not as big as the circle! Because of the way the door has to open they have to squeeze thru a smaller space. I uploaded pix to help understand. Plus when they finally get thru they seem pretty annoyed that the clear flap kind of squishes their tail.... hopefully it will get better. I may just take the clear door off and let it be a cat head shaped hole.

Cheeto is Happy
This cat door was very easy to install. My cat, Cheeto was very hesitant to use the cat door at first, so for the first two weeks I did tape the door up so that she could get used to going in and out of the door. I installed the door leading from my dining room to the sun room. Since my cat loves to be in the sun room I would sit out there in the sun room and call her name, which seemed to comfort her and got her to finally go through the door. After about a week I then removed the tape and put the door down. It took her about a week to use the door with the doors down. Again, I would sit in the sun room and call her name and she eventually figured it out. I did read the reviews about the cat's paws/nails getting stuck inside the locking mechanism. I didn't want to take the chance of that happening to my cat so I ended up just placing blue tape over the lock, which means I can't use the lock, but I don't need the lock for my purposes.

Pretty cute
Easy to install if you're handy with a jigsaw. Works great with a 4 way latch.

Chance of injury
I bought this specifically because most people complained their cat was too big for it. I have a 5lb cat and 18lb dog. It was quite perfect until I was woken up at 3am by the cat screaming due to its paw being caught in it. She is fine but will not use the door unless the panel is off. Unfortunately when the panel is off the dog fits through the hole despite the weight capacity suggestion. Only giving this 2 stars because though it works when I leave the panel tapped open it’s not the way it was intended to use. Plus the pain it caused my cat. I would return it but now I have a hole in my door

Door broke as soon as installed
We finally got around to installing in our new home. Upon testing it out with the cat, the plastic door hinge broke.Would like a replacement as the reviews for this are on the positive side.

You have to find right size fasteners if your door is thicker then one and half inches.
The fasteners came with are too short to fit a 1-3/4” thickness door.
