Best pick I've ever owned.
I've used Tortex picks for over 20yrs. The Yellow(.73) has been my go to for a while, as it gave me the stiffness I needed to solo, and the flexibility I needed to strum well Just a great all round pick. I tried the Jazz III picks, and though I liked the speed and precision, found them them to be a little small for my big paws. Enter the Jaz III XL. I love them.Took a bit of getting used to after using a larger pick for 20+yrs, but after about a week, my old picks now feel clunky in my hands. Love the speed and precision these offer, while still giving me the grip I need. I play 3+ hours per day, and in the month since I've had them, the one pick I've used the entire time is showing very little wear. So they have great memory along with just being a great pick overall.

Perfect shape
Originally I was using standard shape Dunlop .73s and similar. After seeing a lot of recommendations for the Jazz III to help improve fast picking, I tried them out, but found that they were just too dang small. The sharp tip was definitely helpful, but I felt I had to squeeze the pick until my finger joints hurt, just to keep control over them. The Jazz III XL, however, is perfect. It's not really "XL" - it's the same size as an average pick. But the tip will make articulating a quick sequence of notes effortless. The 1mm thickness is where it's at for me - you still get a bit of flex, and can strum just fine, but it's going to give you plenty of control over your picking dynamics and not wear out too fast. If you think you need a smaller pick for pinch harmonics and such, I recommend just choking up your grip on a larger pick instead - you'll have more material in your hand to keep it firmly in place.

My favorite pick.
I love this pick. I feel like it's a good mix between precision picks and traditional flat style. I had one of these that I pilfered off of a friend from an old band that I was in, and I've been babying it ever since. I decided that I would just buy a bunch incase—which I certainly will—lose it one day. I like the way these play after they've been broken if for quite a while, so if you're just getting some of these, try to stick to just playing one pick, rather than fishing for a new one every time you practice. Or not, whatever you like best.

Best style of pick
No complaints whatsoever. I got these for my acoustic guitar, along with some 1.35mm and 1.14mm size picks for my electrics. These are far and away my favorite style of pick. Easy to hold, perfect for any style of play, I recommend these to everyone I know who plays guitar.

Why it's not a 5?
These picks are great and now my main pick because of the size and shape and the 1.14 mm thickness is just right for a balanced tone of highs and lows and note articulation, but I had to bevel the edges which is a negative for this pick. Out of the package the pick is rough and scratchy on acoustic strings and the edges appear to have no smoothing or buffing like many other Dunlop picks have. Although, I'm still glad I found these even with the extra work I had to do to make them sound and play well.

Love them
In 20 years I always am switching up what picks I use but I really found something with these. They're a little smaller than the regular tortex but a little bigger than the white small jazz III, perfect size for what I like. Just bought the 72 pack.

GREAT Precision Speed Warm-Tone!
I love the feel and how it slides over the strings so effortlessly. I only wish it had some raised texturing like the other Jazz 3s or the Primegrip Delrin 500 (black pick in picture). Yes, I'm picky! :-) I drilled 2 3/16" holes in mine to keep them from turning and slipping from my hand. These are now my main go to when I want a warmer, softer picking tone. They wear very well, never flash like nylon and you get a lot in a pack. The sharp Jazz 3 tip gives it the precision I like. I prefer the XL size as the regular Jazz 3 still feels small to me. The 1.5mm is stiff enough. For a sharper pick tone, my favorite is the Ultex Jazz 3 XL, pictured on the left which already includes the raised texturing I like

Love the Jazz III’s
I love the Jazz III’s, but often wondered if I’m spending too much time thinking about holding the little picks versus a regular sized guitar pick.I figured it was the tip that I liked about them and thought then that the XL’s would give me the best of both worlds.Turns out - for me - it is the size of the little Jazz III’s that makes them feel good to me.So. These Dunlop XL Jazz III’s are great and exactly as described. But I’m sticking with the regular Jazz III’s going forward. How’s that for a review?
