IMPRESSED WITH EVERY FACET OF THIS BOOK!
If you like Mike Wimmer's paintings in the book ALL THE PLACES TO LOVE, and Steve Johnson's paintings in the book UP NORTH AT THE CABIN and also in the book THE SALAMANDER ROOM, and lastly the illustrations of Kevin Lepp in the book SAVING THE LIBERTY BELL, you will most definitely be wowed by Robert Papp's illustrations in this book. As an artist myself, I believe a books illustrations can either enhance or leave it flat. This book has amazing illustrations. The author includes a note about how she personally has a strong connection to her Patriot ancestor who served in the American Revolution. I like that.I too have a Rev War Patriot who saved the state house bell, (aka "LIBERTY BELL") in Philadelphia. Secretly hauling the bell in a wagon to Allentown before the Brits could steal it. (This event is mentioned in the first paragraph of page one.)Buying this book, you will NOT be disappointed.

All the Feelings of a patriot
A great and tender story of what life was like for those that fought for the freedoms we have today.

Excellent book!
My grandchildren and I just read this book, and we enjoyed it very much. It is set in our nation's early history and tells the tale of a young girl who acts as a spy for the colonials. It gently describes the plight of poor colonials and of the ways they helped Washington's army defeat the mighty British. Even moments of pain are shared in a gentle manner so that a youngster (ages 6 - 12 or so) learns of loss but does not get bogged down in it. A really good read, and I highly recommend it!
