Outstanding bass drum head.
These are the heads I use on all of my bass drums and in all of my drum kits. Especially effective on smaller bass drums (18 to 20 inches). Most technically advanced drum heads available. Highly recommended.

Nothing but Evans Drum Heads
I have been performing behind the drum kit since I was 14 now in my 70s I have been around the block a few time when it comes to drum heads…. I personally prefer the Evans Brand for durable, tune capabilities, and price I use the 2ply head this bass drum head not only looks good… but sounds excellent again this is my recommendation Go Evans Drum Heads.

The perfect bass drum head
Quality product, amazing price and the sound is just perfect.Highly recommend to anyone who wants a high-quality drum head that can be tuned without "working hard" on the sound

Item as described, fast shipping.
These heads look and sound great. Do need a small amount of damping to kill those overtones. Otherwise they do have that thump in the chest your looking for when tuned and dampened correctly.

love hate relationship
I have two kits, thus two kick drums. One is a 20" and the other is 22", I bought the heads at the same time. These guys sound unbelievable when first installed, really loved them. The 20" is used at clubs around 3 times a month on average. The 22" never leaves my home studio, I don't hit it as hard and I play it about 8 hours per week.At about 4 months, maybe 15 to 20 gigs, I noticed a small crack appearing in the plastic ring that holds the dampening ring. The next gig it cracked to the part of the ring that is glued to the head. The low end was still really good but now there was an annoying buzz being picked up by the kick mic because of the cracked part and that I can't live with. Personally I think that for $35 I should be able to play it more than 15 - 20 times. I don't even use this kick at rehearsal! The only time it's used is at a gig because I love the sound. The 22" seemed to be more durable but given that I do play it more often than the 20" but not as hard, the wear and tear in general is hard to tell. Not too long after installing the head (around 4 months) the same type of crack appeared as in the 22." I dealt with that for about 2 months because it was not a sound critical situation. And where it not for the annoying buzz that occurred because of the crack, I may have kept the head for a couple more months. However the outer ply broke all the way to the muffler ring, thus I had to replace the head.In the end, if you use your kick a lot and can afford to replace the head 2-4 times a year then I think it's a really excellent sound. If you need durability and a limited budget, then look for something else. I settled on the Aquarian II dual ply. It sounds really nice, not as good as the emad but it is very good and will last for a year.

Great head, but not the one pictured
The EMAD head is a great head with good tone and low end.But beware the picture and description is not accurate, the head you will most likely receive would be the newer "revised" head. The mic port has moved to the 4-5 o'clock position, instead of the 2 o'clock pictured, as well as Evans has taken the interchangeable rings and replaced them with an attached ring. Also making the port itself smaller (4" instead of 5").I didn't use the rings on my head because I felt I got more of a thump without them, as well as I've heard they fall apart anyways. So with the old head and the revised head its difficult to get them at the same pitch, very close but not exact, for me anyways. Of course I'm no Bob Gatzen at drum tuning. So if you're trying to order to match a head on a double bass drum setup, order two, but if not, and you want a great head with mic accessibility without cutting your own hole, and low end thump this is a great head.

Great for extra punch!
A great kick drum head with lots of sonic flexibility due to the included ring dampeners. I used this to replace a stock skin on a god awful CB kick drum but now it sounds punchy as hell! I play rock and metal and wanted a decent skin for an important headline show and this surely delivered.
