I've used these gloves for years
I go through a pair about every 2 months. I've had more durable gloves, but these gloves are quite durable relative to their comfort and feel.

Comfortable, rugged, flexible--great camping/bushcraft utility glove
I bought these Wells Lamont 3214L Work Gloves (pigskin palm, spandex back, velcro wrist) as a general purpose camping/bushcraft glove. In my experience, pigskin generally holds up to rough chores better than cowskin or deerskin. Most of the all-leather gloves I've tried tend to separate at the seams over time, so I prefer these hybrid style gloves because the spandex back provides some stretch that alleviates stress on the seams, encouraging them to last longer. It also makes the glove fit a little more snugly, which is important since I like to have reasonably good manual dexterity so that I can operate zippers, cord locks on drawstring packs/bags, snaps/buttons on pockets, and other such things without having to remove my gloves. I also like the velcro wrist strap since it locks the glove on securely and ensures the glove doesn't bunch up or slip on your hand when working.I bought the "large" size. My hand measures 7-1/2" from the base of my palm (at wrist) to the tip of my middle finger, and about 4-1/4" across my palm (relaxed, not stretching/spreading fingers). The large fits great, with my fingertips reaching all the way to the ends/tips of the glove's fingers with no extra space--fitting snugly but not uncomfortably tightly, as a glove should. (If you have even slightly larger hands (+1/4" or more), you may want to consider buying the next larger size or you may find them too tight/short in the finger length.Although not technically fireproof or heat shielded, these gloves have enough thickness in the leather palms to serve as a decent "oven mitt" to reduce the likelihood of burns when handling the handles of cook pots over an open fire. They have adequate thickness in the web of the thumb to minimize blistering while gripping a knife and carving for prolonged periods of time. They do a good job protecting the palm from small prickles, small thorns, and rough bark when handling/clearing brush (large, sharp thorns may still puncture them, though). They also resist moisture well enough that brief contact with moisture, (such as sweeping a small puddle of rainwater off a stump to clear a place to sit down) will not saturate the glove. And finally, they are not so heavy as to be obnoxiously hot in warm weather, but they are thick enough to retain moderate warmth in brisk/chilly air (not as warm as cold-weather gloves, of course, but better that trying to cook and work bare-handed in cold morning air, a brisk fall breeze, or a cool rain.Only time will tell how long these gloves will last, but the quality seems excellent, and I've had good luck with these kinds of gloves (pigskin palm with a spandex back) before. The only quibble I have is that I wish the thumb was constructed with a keyhole cut. The spandex holds the leather to the hand well, but the one place where the material bunches a little is right over the palm. However, with time, I suspect the gloves will break in and improve in that area. Regardless, the gloves that have a keyhole palm seam are usually better fitting in that area, so it would be nice to have that little refinement here. In practice, the slight looseness of material over the palm has not prevented a problem, so it's a very small quibble. All in all, I recommend these as very fine work gloves for general purpose camping/bushcraft needs.

My favorite pair of gloves
I own multiple pairs so I can keep one in the truck at all times. I worked as a full time carpenter/landscaper/general labor in my fathers small remodeling company throughout college (studying IT), so I went through many sets of gloves trying to protect my hands. Years later, I still work around the house, farm, friends house, etc. doing everything from driving tractors and clearing brush to putting in hardwood floors. These are my go to gloves. The are soft , comfortable, and protective. I use them in the woods for processing firewood and cleaning up brush. I use them in the garden. I use them to build wooden fences. I use them to lay hardwood floors. This is also the reason for multiple pairs, after you work in the dirt and mud, friends get upset when you use them inside on clean hardwood as well. I am a weekend warrior, so manual labor is not my day job (I wish I had these gloves when it was), but the pair I bought a year and a half ago are still going strong. Despite the dirt, oil and grime, they have not worn through and are even more comfortable than when I bought them. The soft band on the back is the thing I miss about other gloves that I have, no more searching for a dry, semi clean patch of t-shirt to wipe the seat away. I just bought some Custom Leathercraft 125L Handyman Flex Grip Work Gloves. They are OK (would be better had I never worn the Wells Lamont), but I found myself wiping my brow with the back of the glove and realizing that is not a feature of the Leathercraft. The Leathercraft is not as comfortable, and I will probably never know how they compare in durability since they won't be used as often.

Not very thick
Pigskin is supposed to be better for cactus. These are still pokey. FWIW.

Comfy not durable
Super comfy gloves. However, the finger tips began splitting after ~2 months. I would say I gave them moderately tough use (weeding, digging, working in bushes). Tearing of the the back of glove would be okay, but they're worthless to me once the fingertips start opening.

Quality control is the real issue with these
Ordered a pair of these and they fit terrible. The seam on the right pointer finger dug in below my fingernail and the left glove palm was really loose and the left pinky finger was crocked. Amazon Prime to rescue. Returned first pair, and ordered a second. The second pair was so much better, everything about them was different and fit well. I didn't give it high marks for durability because the leather is thin and i don't think it will stand up well to moving rocks around, laying bricks, or large thorns. However, it may because the leather is so thin that it feels so soft. The second pair actually feels softer on the skin than the first pair, again, it's like two totally different gloves. May actually get a second pair and hope for a good set again.

these are my favourite work gloves
these are my favourite work gloves. they are tough, comfortable and fit nicely. Unlike bulky cheap gloves, these can be worn all day and give you the ability to do things like pick up nails or other small items from the floor without taking them off.
