Easy to use, easy to clean. A great homebrewing addition for newbies and aficionados alike.
Do you want to brew coffee at home, but want to get more hands-on than a Keurig? Are you too broke for an espresso machine, but have enough disposable income for whole beans? The French Press is for you!I've been working with coffee for years (former barista here) and drink it daily. I only recently started a homebrewing set-up, though, and wanted to try grinding whole beans. The French Press caught my eye for boasting a stronger body than drip coffee, with stronger flavor, to boot. I'm happy to say that it very much lives up to the hype as a classic coffeemaker. I've since bought a pourover, too, and can confidently say the coffee that comes out of a French Press is thicker and a little creamier.Don't be fooled by the fancy design: it's very easy to use and clean. Just grind up your beans, dose and steep. Remember that the coarser the grind, the better the extraction (save the medium-fine for a pourover and the fine for espresso). I rinse mine off once it's done and pat it dry. It comes with extra filters to swap out, too. It's been a few months since my purchase and I haven't seen any peeling, rusting, leaking, staining or cracking, which means I got a good quality product for a nice price. Also? It looks adorable on the kitchen counter. The one thing I recommend (and it's not a big enough issue to knock off a star) is to take the coffee dosage recommendation with a grain of salt. The manual suggests one to two spoonfuls, which left me with a watery and unimpressive brew for a nearly full mug. Add in an extra spoonful and let it steep for six to seven minutes. It'll taste much, much better.TL;DR: quaint design, good quality materials and delicious coffee results. All-around solid recommendation.

Easy to use one-cup French press with a touch of style
I've made about a hundred cups of coffee in one of these and so it's time to give it a review. This review assumes that you a) are buying this with the expectation of making one cup of coffee at a time, andb) have decided that a French press is for you.Usability: Five stars. It's about as simple to use as a French Press can be - which is pretty doggone simple. Serves up to ~12 ounces. Only small amounts of sediment escape the filter with typical pre-ground coffees. I haven't replaced my filter yet, and have seen no change in performance.Cleaning is straightforward enough. Rinse well with tap water, put away not more than damp, use a little soap (or vinegar, if your water is hard) every week or so to keep it sparkly.Durability: Three stars. This is a small, medium-built press with a glass container. Don't let it knock about when you're on the road or have it in a box. Don't wave it about when cleaning it - crack it against the sink, and it's done. Don't use a metal thing to stir your coffee. Basically, be mindful that this is a small glass object, and you'll do just fine. Someone who doesn't break china or glasses too often probably won't break this either. Spend more for a metal French press if this statement doesn't apply!Value for money: Five stars. It makes coffee, and makes it over and over again. it travels small and light, it looks like its owner actually cares about style, and boy howdy is it cheap to replace. I just have no complaints.

High quality French press
This French press is a high quality built. Comes with 4 meshes (2 installed and 2 additional in the box) that you can combine per your preference.I don't drink French press coffee but I use the press to froth hot milk for cappuccino or latte. For this purpose I use only one of the meshes. With some practice this press produces very good milk froth. (If preparing the milk for latte, try to not lift the piston above the milk level while pumping. This way you will limit the amount of air and will have a smooth no-bubbles milk froth that's suitable for latte. Alternatively, if pumping in more air, 100 ml of milk can easily fill in a 350 ml cup of cappuccino.)Also, as I use the press only for milk frothing, I removed the metal stand and handle. This makes the press easier to clean and it takes less space in the cupboard. If you do the same, when operating be sure to place the glass on a forgiving surface in order to protect it. When frothing, I place the press on a wooden cutting board to avoid damaging the glass from the hard granite countertop.I bought initially the bigger version of the same press. While it has the same high quality, I found it a bit too big for milk frothing. All in all, excellent product that I highly recommend whether you are making French press coffee or you are frothing milk.

Cute, works well, but very uneven on the bottom
The media could not be loaded. I bought this specifically for use with Crio Bru (ground Cacao beans) to just make a cup for myself in the mornings. The small size is just right for that purpose and it looks great and works really well! The problem is it is pretty significantly uneven on the bottom such that the metal feet don't all hit in the same spot. It wobbles quite a bit, and while I'm not worried about it tipping over or anything like that, a wobbly vessel isn't exactly what you want when you're dealing with boiling liquid. Plus it's annoying while stirring. And because of how it's made, there is no way to adjust/fix it. See video. If it didn't wobble, I'd give it 5 stars for sure! And yes, I paid full price for it (which I think is very fair in spite of the wobble)!
