Expert craftsmen use combinations of azure, white, purple and emerald shaded pearls to create designs of intricate matrices around the reinforced aluminium shell.  23cm SOMBATY DARBUKAThis range of Darbuka, known as Sombaty, has a 23cm wide head, with a 47cm high body. This is a more modern size of Darbuka that gives it more weight, creating more powerful and deeper sounds. Sombaty Darbukas are characterised by their fantastically powerful Slaps, wonderfully deep Doums and beautifully resonant Teks.  PROFESSIONAL QUALITY CARRY CASEAll of our Sombaty Darbukas are supplied with a professional quality carry case to ensure that they aren't damaged when they are transported between gigs. These bags are handmade in Egypt and have sturdy carry handles and a zip pocket.  Disclaimer: As to be expected with all handmade instruments, there may be some minor variations in design, slight imperfections on the body and some small scratches on the Darbuka head. This will not affect the quality of the sound in any way. All items are new and have not been previously used. Darbukas, like most instruments, require tuning and should be played/tuned regularly for the first few weeks until the head sets fully and the true beauty of the sound starts to shine through.
