Quietest AC I've ever used
My situation: a large 1-bedroom apartment in southern Massachusetts, on the north side of a 100-plus-year-old frame house converted into 8 apartments. It's not the sun belt, but we get low 90s through July and August, and the humidity is high. I've got a roughly 300 sq. ft. bedroom and a 280 sq. ft. living room, with a 200 sq. ft. kitchen plus bathroom in between. The wiring is wicked old (fuses, not circuit breakers) so I have to pay close attention to current draw or I'll blow fuses in a heartbeat. I had to run some 10-gauge ground wire from the outlets to a grounding strap on the nearest radiator.I bought a 5000 btu Frigidaire last year (Model FFRA0511R1E) for the bedroom. It did an acceptable job of cooling an area larger than its rating (with the help of a tiny circulating fan), is not too loud, and draws only 3.5 amps, which is just amazing. My electric bills are tiny. This year I added this model, a Frigidaire FFRE063ZA1 6000 btu, for the living room. It arrived with a small defect; the rail on the bottom to hold the left-side accordion wing was crushed at the end, and I had to bend the metal and shave the plastic frame of the wing in order to install the wing. Minor issue, not a difficult problem, but if I hadn't been handy I would have had to send it back. The 6000 btu AC unit is completely sufficient for the front room and then some. It appears to do it while drawing only about 4.5 amps, which, again, is amazing. The efficiency of these little units is a wonder of technology. But the thing that struck me is how quiet it is. This is absolutely the quietest air conditioner I've ever run. No rattles, no loud electrical hums, just a modest air rushing sound that gets swallowed by the room. The rating said 47 dB and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it was actually less than that. The two air conditioners are completely cooling my entire apartment on the hottest day of the year. It's not freezer-cold; it's comfortable, around 72 degrees indoors, and that's just fine. I don't even run the 6000 btu at night. I don't need a unit for the kitchen. These small Frigidaire AC units are outstanding.

Works great! Super quiet 🤫 Really Cold 🥶
Installed through the wall on a 120 sq ft. Room. Immediately cooled the entire room. The remote is super useful and has its own temp sensor so you can set it on the other side of the room to make sure the entire area gets to the right temp.Came with everything! and the insulation prices came in super handy.Really excited to see how it works out in the heat wave days...

Good Model, Power efficient, Single Room A/C
This 6,000 btu cools our 350 sq ft large bedroom to 68F in about a hour. We ordered the unit from Amazon as local stores were all out of stock during a summer heatwave and we are familiar with the line, owning a 8,000 btu unit for our main living space. The Eco function is great for nights average days. If you need a unit to do multiple rooms or a larger space look at there 8,000 and 10,000 btu models. They blow more air. The unit is very quiet. And is very power efficient 21/24 on the scale. As with all window units it benefits from a room fan to help distribute air. We use a Lasko Tower fan on oscillate. We crossed our fingers and the unit arrived undamaged. The Remote is a little clunky and the bottom of the unit can make install in some old windows a bit tricky. There is a good started install kit and materials included. **Remember to remove the black plastic drainage hole cap. We did not and had to take the unit out and do it.**

Works
Just got around to installing it. Went in easy. Its working. Its cooling my room which is 12 by 12. I would have liked it to be a little louder like my old one but it will do. Love how the sun illuminates the styrofoam insulation inside. The remote has a thermometer on it, which is nice. The vents could do a better job of directing air. I take back what I said about the vents. I turned them the other direction and they stopped blowing on the back of my head. The do direct the air.Did not use the supplied insulation and went with my own custom job of using real insulation packed 4 inches thick between the window and a board I cut out for the job. This setup makes it even more insulated than the windows its sitting in. If I think of it I will update this should this unit keep working for years to come. The unit it replaced was 15 years old and still working, Goldstar. The unit I received is the correct one with black vents as pictured.Wanted to add that the vents actually do work to direct air. Tried some other directions after writing this review and am very happy with their ability.

Very efficient and quiet
I love this air conditioner! My apartment is just over 350 sq ft and this unit cools my apartment sufficiently. It doesn’t get ice cold in there, but it’s comfortable. The remote is really nice and I like that it senses the temperature of the remote, not just the unit. The air filter light is also a nice feature, and the filter is super easy to clean. You can’t control the direction of the air very well, but that’s really the only complaint I have. The noise level is also really low, just a nice low hum.

Lasted ONE WEEK
Unbelievably disappointed. Not only is it LOUD (and I like a good amount of white noise to sleep, but this was far too annoying for a bedroom), but it lasted a grand total of ONE WEEK before the compressor failed and I had to return it. It ran fine for that week, blew nice and cold, then I turned it on one afternoon and after 30 minutes noticed that not only was the room still warm, but there was an odd rattling from the compressor. Shut it down and let it sit, did some googling, tried a couple more times, but same problem; odd noises, and just warm air. Don't waste our time. I replaced it with the Midea U-shaped model, which is insanely quiet by comparison and has worked great so far.

A great air conditioner and very quiet
Very easy to put together. Having someone to help you life and place into the window might be helpful. The unit is extremely quiet by I think anyone’s standards. On low you can barely hear it, and on high it sounds like a normal fan but nothing unpleasant. I have a 400 sq apartment and it cools the room it’s placed in 100% and the furthest room 80%. It’s a very good machine. And the remote control works perfectly. All in all, it’s great.

Frigidaire FFRE063ZA1 Window Mount Air Conditioner.
Frigidaire FFRE063ZA1 Window Mount Air Conditioner.Used in the master bedroom. It is an air conditioner, so yes, there is noise. I would say this is the quietest ac unit I have ever used. On low, you cannot really hear the compressor going on or off. Just a steady and even flow of air that during the first evening of use, both my wife and I had no problem with. Especially now that the room was cool and comfortable. Very pleased, highly recommended.

Nice little unit
The AC is a nice little unit, that isn't too loud, and effectively cools my place. The one nitpick I have is that the bottom mount frame doesn't sit flush, and it raised slightly on the left side. So it's not a complete seal.

Huge waste of money
This is a terrible product. Do not buy, huge waste of money.
