If you have fat feet, size up or they will take FOREVER to break in. On that note, be prepared for a break-in period and for it to hurt.

I like them

These are the classic Birks made using a leather alternative. I have been a bit rough, not unbuckling when taking them off, and I can already see some damage to the back buckle after just a few months. I have had these in real leather in the past and they didn't do that for many years. In that pair, it was what ultimately did them in, but my soles had worn out and gotten replaced long before the back strap was damaged and it took many years. I'm somewhat OK with it because I didn't want leather for animal rights issues, just wish they had a more durable alternative.

This is only my 2nd pair of Birks in 15 years the 1st pair had cracked cork and couldn't be fixed. While my foot is wider than the average person, I was expecting these to fit a little better. Took some time to break in, but now they are and I can wear them all day with no problem. Cuts down on how sore my knees and back get from standing for long periods of time. Good shoe

These are now my favorite shoes... And they were a great price...

I made the mistake of ordering the 39 (8-8 1/2) instead of the smaller size. I have been wearing this type of sandal for a long time. I can only wear the sandal with the strap on the heel.

Birkenstock, what's to know, good comfortable footwear, last a while also, bit expensive, that would be my only gripe, would recommend
