Rome Original Basket Broiler (9" x 12"/Chrome)

I've used this twice so far, for burgers & hot dogs, and chicken thighs, and it's great. I was thrilled to find this particular model, because I have another one of the same that I've been using for more than 30 years. I can say this, they really hold up.The usable space of the basket is about 9 x 13 x 1-3/4 and it will hold 8-10 good size burgers, or 10 chicken thighs. The hot dogs were sort of thin, so I just laid them diagonally to keep them from falling between the wires. I don't understand reviews that say the basket opens when you flip it, mine holds very firmly and solidly, no trouble at all in that department. The handle is 19" long.For easy cleanup, I just burn off the residue, douse or spray it with water, then give it a quick scrub with a Scotch pad. Burned-on chicken skin required a soak in the sink first before scrubbing.I highly recommend this for home or camping use, I've used others but this is the best.

Works great. Handle is long preventing you from burning your hands while cooking over the fire. The clasp keeping the the two parts together never really tightens up. Other 'flipper's I have sued take advantage of a tapering handle. As it gets closer to the basket it widens out allowing the clasp to tighten up.

I've had one of these for over twenty years and finally wore it out over hundreds of campfires. Solved all the world's problem with my fireside philosophizing, too.Never cleaned the cooker once, just "sanitized" it over the fire before and after each use. Even after twenty years of my ham-handed abuse, it was still going strong but started to warp. Here's hoping the new one lasts just as long.I especially like the adjustable depth of the basket. It's the only cooker I've seen with this feature. (Warning: pun ahead) Call me a happy camper.

This is perfectly lovely for cooking meat over an open fire or coal bed. Also good for potatoes in their various incarnations (fries, scallops, chips, juliennes... pretty much everything but mashed, which would fall through, and baked, where the basket is unnecessary). Chunky vegetables also work, for shish without the kabob [stick].

Great basket! Our primary use is to cook cut up chicken in the BBQ. We brown each side; cover with foil; and cook gently until tender. Delicious! We love chicken wings and the basket keeps everything from sticking to the grill and falling into the burners. Also great for cooking vegetables on the BBQ.

works great for open fire cooking and grilling. used it a bunch camping. learned the lesson the hard way cooking a nice slab of salmon... ABSOLUTELY MUST USE A NON STICK SPRAY! or wrap in tinfoil etc. other than that its great

Works great for steak in the fire pit. Love the long handle. Arrived with a dent but we decided to accept that as it does not impact operation.

We haven't used this item yet but had one several years ago and loved it. We used it on camping trips and on our charcoal and gas grills at home. Keeps small food from falling into the fire and helps when turning food. Suggest you spray before each use for easy clean-up.
