Not cheap but best I’ve used

I've had a plastic frame version of this microplane that I have had for 15 to 20 years. It is cracked around the perimeter but kept on going. Finally decided to replace it. Wow. No really, wow. So sturdy, so sharp. It will last through the end times....

Whenever I purchase an item on Amazon, I always read the reviews first, but ONLY the NEGATIVE ones. After all, who would “fake” a negative review?I had NONE of the problems or issues mentioned.With respect to removing the label from the “blade”, I read the manufacturer’s instructions online and followed them without any difficulty whatsoever. 5 stars here.Regarding a “flimsy” blade complaint, the Microplane Coarse Grater (I didn’t want a zester; I wanted a grater) had a very stiff blade which I doubt I could ever bend. Mine is both solid and extremely sharp. Again, 5 stars.Finally, a complaint about the plastic shield. I keep the shield on while it’s stored in the drawer. Removing/replacing the shield is as easy as bending the plastic shield slightly so you can easily pop it on or off. Another 5 stars.Thus, I experienced none of the negatives and all of the positives. Three passes with a wedge of Parmigiana produced a TBSP of nicely grated cheese. I can’t imagine it being any easier unless someone did it for me!Fantastic product unequivocally recommenced.

This is one of my best tools in the kitchen. Cleans so much more easily than I expected and hasn’t rusted at all in a year. I use it for cheese, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, and more. It’s constantly being used and is still in perfect condition. Love this thing

Appears to be well made grater with the right cut for grating cheese. Width is wider than other microplane graters which I like. So far happy with purchase.

Sharp, a good size to grate hard cheeses. I've got several of the planes, in the file shape, course and fine.Some of my microplanes are over 20 years old, still perfectly usable. I usually hand wash them, and everything else with a sharp edge, they stay sharper.

I bought this specifically for garlic and small items to grate directly into what I am cooking. Works great, easy to clean and easy to handle.

I make a lot of Japanese dishes and they include ginger fairly often. Fresh is usually best, and if you've used a Japanese ginger grater you know the mess of fibers that is left behind, and you must squeeze the juice from that mess.Not so with this microplane. It annihilated the ginger rhizome into bits, no lost fiber or juice. I got to eat the entire thing. Fantastic performance on hard cheeses as well. I love this thing.
