FieldpieceSOX3 Combustion Check New with Hard Case

This meter works great for a reasonably priced O2 test meter/combustion analyzer. The technical support staff at Fieldpiece took great care of me immediately when the meter arrived damaged. I can't say enough about their customer support. I have used many types of combustion analyzers over the 40 years I have been doing this work, some high end good meters and some expensive overly complex junk. The important thing for me is how well it works in the field, regardless of price. So far this little meter is fantastic. It is easy to set up and use, very responsive and more accurate than my Bacharach meter when compared side by side for multiple tests. I recommend this analyzer without reservation. Oh, one of the best things about this analyzer is that it does not require being sent in for calibration every year as the O2 sensor is field replaceable and has an indicator telling you when replacement is due. Kudos, Fieldpiece !

Seems to work fine. The O2 sensor indicator is not present on the display of the new unit purchased in January of 2016. When I called Fieldpiece I was told that there had been some sort of programming revision that affected units built around the time mine was made (June 2014), and the only way to tell when the O2 sensor is needing replacement is to note the % O2 at startup and when it drops below 20.9 its time to replace. I asked what the life expectancy might be for this sensor and was told it would be from two to three years from date of manufacture--not from date put into service. Sounds like I have between 6 months and 18 months of life left in this rather expensive sensor. I was told that (if I should be so lucky) the sensor would fail during the warranty period at which time I could send the unit in for a possible replacement sensor! How about stepping up and selling my new unit with a new sensor???

It was a good price point for me, installing my own boiler. It's a one-use purchase which paid for itself when I didn't have to hire somebody to come and commissioned the boiler for me.

I'm a huge fan of Fieldpiece and their products. They stand behind their products. Customer service is great if you ever need them. This combustion analyzer is perfect for heating start ups. You can easily navigate this analyzer. The magnetic shell of the analyzer is great for hands free readings. Can tune up a boiler or furnace easily with this combustion analyzer. If your doing more in depth analysis I'd recommend another instrument. For a heating tune up on a maintenance this is perfect.

Seems to work well, instructions are not that easy to follow but with a little tinkering you will pick it up. A combustion efficiency chart would be nice if it was included. It would take a little guess work out of it. All in all it is a great tool and probably saved me the cost of the tool in wasted fuel and maintenance alone.

Unit worked as advertised. Followed the quick start instructions and was able to read %CO2 on unit.

I can see myself using this well built instrument for many years in the future. Complete kit with spare parts included. The consumable air filters, gasket and cover were all included. Easy to read and operate and has a good battery life.
