I can't give 5 stars because I was unable to test the seal since this product didn't fit my needs. That being said, it's a thick, seemingly durable cap that should work great if it is the cap you need for your product.

California Prop65 Warning so... is it safe for drinking water tanks on my RV? Probably not.
California Prop65 cancer warning on the package. It's pretty much impossible to find anything that doesn't cause cancer these days. Corporate lobbyists run the FDA. Even lead "Free" Brass has lead in it. You know. Lead IS delicious I guess.Since I'm only using this to keep dirt out of my outlet I'm probably OK since it won't be in constant contact with the drinking water. It's just disappointing that big corp just does not seem to care. I mean, don't they have kids too? It's not about a little exposure here and a little exposure there... it's about a lifetime of toxic chemicals in EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE. Sigh. Depressing.

Perfect fit!!
This item replaced my portable RV sewer tank vent cap. This cap was not tethered to the tank and fell off while being towed to the dump station at campground. This cap has a tether attached to the cap and will never get lost.

Perfect to cover the drain outlet for our old Jayco Tent trailer
The drain outlet on this trailer has always been exposed since we inherited it, and I have had to go in and clean it out a couple times because debris and insects get into it. This was a perfect fix for it, and the added strap keeps it from getting misplaced when we are camping.

Need a new drain cap on my 94 palomino and this worked perfectly. The lanyard is a bit tight as others stated but I had no trouble getting it on

Lanyard too tight & breaks
As many others have experienced & reviewed. the ring that is to go over the threaded end for the cap is too tight. It is not elastic enough and as you try to coddle the ring over the threads it rolls and it ended up breaking off. This was a bit pricey for an end cap but I wanted it for the lanyard. Now that it broke it serves no purpose. Looks darn nice in the picture but they need to work on what type of material they use or make an adjustment on the size. Not worth the hassle of returning so I'm out $8.00.
