Rammstein - Volkerball (CD/DVD in DVD digipack)

Like all R+ DVD's this is well presented & slick. The two DVD's contain footage of the Reise Reise tour 2004/2005 & interviews with R+. The tour footage was a tad disappointing as most was from Nimes in France (103 minutes) with only 34 minutes for the other 3 concerts featured. I was disappointed as I had been to Brixton, Birmingam & Berlin concerts in 2005 & felt that it would have been fairer to all concerts to show a bit of each. However, I'm bias & there is 18 minutes from Brixton (including Rein Raus)& Moskau being sung live in Moscow (amazing).The footage is brillant ,with lots of close ups of the stage show & fans who went wearing t-shirts of other bands(shocking). Very professionally done but the camera man seemed very pre occupied at Nimes with a young woman who's breasts seemed to be escaping & there are several separate close ups dedicated to this.My only real moan is that there are repeats of Ohne Dich (Nimes & Brixton), Du Hast (Japan & Nimes), Sonne (Nimes & Brixton), Mein Teil (Nimes & Japan) & Feuer Frei (Nimes & Brixton). Almost like the producers were filling in time.The second DVD is WOW!!! The band are interviewed at length & there are British sub titles for the poor fans like me who struggle with German. This DVD contains clips I have not seen before (I've got a pretty good collection) & it is a really good insight into the feelings of the band towards fame & their success. A really interesting documentary that is nearly an hour long.The CD is great but not necessary as most fans have all the albums any way. Nothing new on it, just all the great stuff live in a interesting order.Is it necessary to own this if you are a huge Rammstein fan ? In my view yes. I have an extensive collection of Rammstein DVD's & interviews but this set had pieces I've never seen before. I have personal footage from Brixton but it is not a patch on how much more you see with the professional pieces. Worth the money..... a big yep.

Having bought all their cds after seeing "Sonne" on MTV I knew what to expect with this cd + dvd set.And I got it!Most of the live dvd is from Nimes amphitheatre [2005]; the songs are the ones you want to hear live: REISE REISE, LINKS 234, FEUER FREI, ASCHE ZU ASCHE, MEIN TEIL, DU HAST, AMERIKA, SONNE, ICH WILL and many more. There is also a great version of Depeche Mode's STRIPPED, the riff at the begining is to die for. Johnny Cash did a great alternative version of this song too. I have all 3 and they're all brilliant in their own way. All we need now is Lily Allen's version... ok, maybe not.There are 4 more tracks from Brixton and 3 from Tokyo - meaning you get another hearing of SONNE, FEUER FREI, MEIN TEIL and DU HAST - smashing.Singer/growler Till Lindemann comes across like the unholy offspring of Ozzy Osbourne and Herman Munster. The two guitarists Richard & Paul lay down some great riffs (similar to Judas Priest only heavier). Bassist Oliver keeps the wall of noise at pain threshold, while drummer Christoph surveys all atop the speaker stacks keeping up a relentless and powerful beat. Keyboard/nutter Christian prowls, dances, grins and generally acts like a Teutonic Max Wall.Very tongue-in-cheek. Who said the Germans have no sense of humour or irony?The live cd is pretty much identical in content to the dvd.Put it on your car stereo, wind the windows down, turn up to volume 11 and see the chavs in their old Novas melt before your eyes.If you like Rammstein you will not be disappointed in this package. The sound is clear, the stage show magnificent, the audience crazed. Play loud and play often.

Never bothered listening to rammstein, as a much older rock fan, just didn't fancy it at all,then watched them in concert, really enjoyed it as a whole show. Bought this enjoyed it,some of the lyrics when translated leave a bit too be desired, ha. Enjoyed nevertheless.

This has to be one of the best music dvd's I have watched. There is plenty of content to be watched and is all of a high standard, I would put it as a must buy for any Rammstein fan and is best played on full volume.

Concert de " ouf ", je dois avouer que l'allemand n'est pas ma langue préféré pour la musique ,mais sur ce live cela passe très bien, gros jeu scénique ,gros son, génial!

No he tenido la oportunidad de verlos en directo pero viendo el video y escuchando el cd, te haces una idea de el grandioso espectáculo que es Rammstein.La entrega super rapido

Völkerball ist die neueste DVD der 6 Berliner um fronter Till Lindemann, und sie ist wie ich finde sehr gut geworden.Es gibt zwar ein paar dinge die man hätte besser machen können aber ma kann ja nich alles haben!DIE DVD besteht in der Special Edition aus2DVD's und einer Audio Live CD und wie ich finde ist allein schon die aufmachung der DVD die man zwar erst einmal 5mal umklappen muss um an die CD's zu kommen dann aber echt toll ist weil si mit schönen Fotos innen verziert ist, und vorallendingen ist die DVD Hülle sehr stabil und geht nich gleich kaputt, dafür kommt man etwas schwer an die DVD's ran aber okay is nur ein schönheitsfehler.DAS Booklet ist auch schön aufgemacht und auch hierfür ein pluspunkt.Dann lege ich die DVD mit dem eigentlichen Konzert aus Nimes in Frankreich rein und die erste angenehme Überraschung es ist alles sehr übersichtlich und aufgeräumt gestaltet und man findet sofort alles.Das Konzert selber ist dann wie ich finde echt toll und typisch Rammstein mit viel Licht effekten und einer gehörigen Portion Feuer verbunden, die Songauswahl ist ebenfalls sehr gut wie ich finde gerade weil man viel von Reise,Reise und Rosenrot gehört bekommt dafür auch mal ein pluspunkt, nur leider ist der sound nich ganz soooo gut wich ich mir das gedacht hatte denn den Bass höre ich nich so wirklich raus während des Konzertes ausser es kommt eine passage wo der Bass gerade im vordergrund steht und das bei den Restlichen Konzertmitschnitten immer die gleichen Lieder sind finde ich auch nich ganz so gut da hätte man sich was anderes ausdenken sollen also eine andere Set-List spielen können.Neben dem Konzert aus Nimes dann noch MITSCHNITTE AUS Tokyo,London,Moskau zusehen die allesamt eindrucksvoll sind aber wegen den sich immer wiederholenden songs dann langweilig wird.Die Zweite DVD ist dann ein Making of enhtalten zum Reise,Reise Album das wie ich finde sehr interessant ist und man mal sieht wie die Jungs so ihre Lieder aufnehmen und wie oft man die Studios wechselt.Ist schon sehr interessant vorallendingen auch sehr lustig zum teil.Das Schmankal der DVD ist dann aber das Interview mit der Band das 59Minuten lang ist und jeder aus dem Näh Kästchen spricht über seine Bühnen erfahrung usw usw.Und wie ich finde alles sehr gelungen gemacht und sehr informativ gestaltet.Fazit:Diese DVD ist für jeden Rammstein eigentlich schon pflicht denn sie ist nicht nur live auftritt sondern auch mit hintergrund infos behaftet die jeden interssieren dürften der sich mit Rammstein auseinander setzt.Nur leider hat auch diese DVD ihre schwächen denn einmal ist der sound während des Liveauftrittes zum teil oder gerade was dn Bass angeht doch sehr schlapp und man muss doch sehr genau hinhören und die Songauswahl is gut aber bei den Zusatz Mitschnitten aus London,Moskau,Tokyo hätte ich mir andere Songs gewünscht denn so wiederholt sich ständig das gleiche Szenario und dann wird die DVD etwas langweilig jedoch rettet diese DVD die Audio CD die das tolle Konzert aus Nimes nochmal für's Auto zu einem erlebnis macht.Und die tolle Verpackung der DVD kann auch noch mal einiges rausholen.ALSO ICH KANN NUR SAGEN KAUFEN!!!
