When I first had this boa it was shedding like crazy, all over my apartment. I took it outside and shook the everloving heck out of it until it stopped shedding. Quite a lot of feathers came out and it has a bit less volume now, it arrived very thick and nice and now it's looking a little thin for my preference. I wish they had attached the feathers better or done it even thicker so after it's shook out it still has lots of volume. It is however very soft and the feathers seem to be of nice quality. It is made of shorter, finer, fuzzy feathers at the core and then longer feathers that reach outward past them. Keep in mind feathers can get mites even though they're not attached to a bird, so freezing the boa for a day or two every once in a while might be a good idea. Also if the feathers get scraggly or just not as nice looking you can steam the boa to refresh the feathers, you can do this either with a handheld steamer or over the stove if you're careful.

This was a pretty accessory, but it lost feathers and small pieces all night.

I used this for Halloween, but it sheds a lot it left a trail. It always sheds not just when you first open it. This feather boa is also kid of itchy, but it does look nice.

I was so stunned when I pulled this out of the box – for a cheap one, it was quite fluffy and the color depth was beautiful. (I am braiding with solid black to give a more natural, less dyed look).Yes, it shed. But this isn't my first rodeo – they all shed, open them outside.Only complaint is that it gives off a strong odor that is something like dead rat and dog poop and you can smell it from a few feet away. Luckily, I'm far enough away from people on stage they won't be able to smell it but DAMN I hope that smell airs out. Sheesh.

it sheds not terribly but it definetly sheds. I didnt like how the white string that was uses to bind the feathers were tied into huge knots at the ends. It looked very tacky. I am a burlesque performer, i cut the knots off.. i hope it doesnt unravel. its worth the price and has survived 3 shows so far! Would recommend for small virtual shows where you cant see the feathers shed.

Beautiful dress, really great quality. It was surprisingly heavier than I expected. I am 5'11" and normally size 12/14 dress so I ordered a large. I'm smaller up top with big hips and a big bootie. This dress unfortunately did not cover my butt. I bought this dress last minute for a 20's-themed wedding so I didn't have another option. HOWEVER! All was not lost, I have a black bodycon mini skirt that I can wear under and it's perfect! Although it did not fit over my large behind, which is the only reason for my 4 star rating.
