This appears at first use to be an excellent product. I purchased the Clear preservative to coat a new rough sawn fence which was required after storm Eowyn. As of today I have coated a 15m fence on one side with approx 4 litres of the product. It soaks in well and is easy to apply. Has a minimal odour and appears to be both a light solution which penetrates the wood panels well giving them a natural light golden appearance. I have applied various products over the years to fences and this is by a mile the easiest to apply with a basic fence brush. I intend to apply 2 coats so I purchased 15litres in total but suspect that 10 will suffice to allow a spare for touch ups if required. I expect that when dry it will protect the wood from the rain which we get plenty of. Brushes are easily cleaned in white spirit although I would recommend buying a cheap plastic bucket in order to pour product into for application.Update: I have now completed both sides of fence with 2 coats and of 15 litres I have used about 12 in total as it soaks in very well to new wood. The clear leaves a mellow colouring but allows wood knots and all to show through. I would recommend this product because of its ease of application, finished look and protective properties which I hope will last for quite a few years.

Just used this on a new shed and it is excellent. Goes on beautifully and leaves a lovely finish with the wood grain all still visible. Been subject to some very bad weather and it is perfectly waterproof, rain just beads and runs off, even heavy wind blown rain. The summer tan colour is lovely too.The new shed is next to a summer house which is painted with a water based paint type preserver and the Barrettine oil based stuff looks so much nicer. The summer house looks almost plastic in comparison.I put two liberal coats on a 6 x 20 shed and have almost a litre left over. Very highly recommended and reasonably priced too.

I liked the ease of application, reminiscent of traditional creosote.A nice deep brown/black finish too.Only time (like more than 5 years) will tell whether it improves the timber lifetime compared to what I’ve used before.

Great colour; like warm chestnut; really great cover and easy to use & clean up after use. Arrived on time, as per Amazon Prime; maybe a little more expensive than other products; but the excellent quality is what you're paying for. Completed all of a set of 2m high × 3m wide driveway gates including uprights, with enough left to touch up exposed areas. Great

This wood preservative works very well, I have regularly painted my garden shed with it and the shed still looks like new after at least 13 years. Our garden seats and planters are also painted with it and it certainly extends their life. I have always used the red cedar colour, it looks smart and I would highly recommend it as a good investment to extend the life of outside timber.

Excellent product, delivered extremely quickly. This Preserver works much, much better than wood treatments that 'sit' on the surface. This soaks into the wood, whilst colouring it perfectly.

Comes in a secure tin and once opened is easy reseal for future use. Easy to apply to brush a clear protective coat which after two to three coats will I hope keep the timber from turning into a greying shade.

Excellent product, I have used this before. It soaks well into the timber and lasts well.
