DK Readers L1: Submarines and Submersibles (DK Readers Level 1)

my 5 year old grandson loves this book. Nice pictures and easy to read and understand

Well got this book and a few more for my 6 year old grandson. He will be seven in November. I was reading to him and have to admit it was a little confusing (to me) after you would end one story and try to go back to the page where you could choose a different ending. Although he understood the concept, he was more interested in his regular books. Age group on these books starts at 9 years, so I will hold off ordering any more until he is older. Those parents who have trouble getting their kids interested in reading, may want to try these. My oldest son loved to read but I had trouble finding books that would interest my youngest son. I found the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books managed to capture his attention with the many different endings.

The book discussed underwater exploration and navy submarines in an easy-2-understand format. My sons memorized this book and it's hearty vocabulary after hearing it several times. They repeat the vocabulary during play, "my boat is submerged under the water," which cracks us parents up. They LOVE when I switch the word, "submarine" with something silly, like hot dog to be silly and see if they're paying attention. This series is awesome and we like every book we've acquired from it.

It's a great book. We bought this years ago for my niece to explain how her uncle "lived underwater" for months at a time. We bought it again for our son because his daddy's old crew and sub are featured in the book.

My son really enjoyed this book. He has been talking about periscopes since we first read it a couple weeks ago 😆

This book was purchased for my 8 year old grandson. According to his parents, he has already read it several times. It was definitely a hit.

Great gift for my nephew's class and their Flat Stanley project. Interesting and varied content. Words are pretty big for beginners.
