Give Me Liberty!: The Story of the Declaration of Independence

I was so excited about using this book for my 7th-grade Reading class this year. I purchased 30 copies ($450) to complement what was being taught in Social Studies. The book's content is very good, but the way the books were bound together is terrible. My books are literally falling apart. I realize this is not Amazon's fault, and I will be contacting the publishing company. I write this review as a cautionary tale for anyone else who might be interested in purchasing this book.

I have been reading this with my seven year old and they love it. It is interesting, has a lot of period pictures and doesn't seem to have a strong political leaning in either direction.

My 4th grader enjoyed this book and so did I! She read it for her summer reading requirement. I thought it was appropriate for a fourth grader and very informative.

Great primary resources. Right on reading grade level. Goes right along with everything we are talking about. My students were about to make so many connections to other books and activities with this book.

OK...I'll admit it; I got fooled! I didn't read the review carefully enough nor did I do the necessary inspection of the book itself. I was expecting a well written, adult oriented, lengthy, history of the early years of the republic; say from 1730 to about 1810.What I got was a picture book suited to 7th/8th graders at best. The bibliography is a joke. If you have children of these ages in your home, this is a passable book. I don't. For me, the book was a waste of money
