Easy Replacement
Used this to replace the original flush valve on an American Standard 4021 (1.6 gpf) toilet. The original rubber seal had started deteriorating badly and the flapper had been replaced with a korky flapper. Just decided to throw in the towel and start with all new. Well worth the 5 minutes it took to install.

No install instructions included in package. Had to purchase the entire assembly and only needed the rubber seal on the bottom. Not a job for a novice.

Wrong size for 4019 tank

This is the version with the longest/ highest overflow.
I liked it's tough construction and came with inner seal. It was simple and easy to install. It came with directions, but I was able to install it using common sense. Took about 15 minutes. Shut off water to tank, drained tank. Took off bolts to tank. Unscrewed old and took it off and screwed on the new replacement.NOTE: Probable should get a new tank seal between the tank & bowl when replacing this part.Bolt tank into place. Hook flap chain to flush handle arm. Put tube to overflow and turn water back on.Note: This would be a good time to replace the water valve if yours is 4 or more years old.

Does not fit my Cadet 3.
I purchased this for my American Standard Cadet 3 round front 10" rough in toilet. After 3 years, I started hearing the dripping sound that indicates the seal is failing. This part was indicated as a factory replacement, however the threads do not fit through the hole at the bottom of the tank. They are noticably wider than the original (3.16" original vs 3.45" replacement part outside diameter). I am not sure if I recieved the wrong part or if my toilet is out of spec, as there are no indicating numbers on this part, but when I purchased the toilet at Home Depot, the box was sealed so I have to believe the toilet is all original parts.

Fits Cadet 3 low flow 1.28g tank #4019
Wasn't sure if this would fit and work for my Cadet 3 low flow 1.28g/f toilet , but it does and it seems to be working. The tank is the 4019 and mine had a little bump on it where you connect the flush valve assembly (where the gasket hits the bottom of the tank. I used some rough grade sand paper (i think around 50-80 grit) and smoothed out that bumping area.I think that what might have caused it to leak in the first place (the bottom of the tank doesn't look like its very flat or even one consistent thickness... but when I cranked the valve kit on as tight as possible (using only my hands), it seems to fix my leak.
