Primeval Series 1 – 5 Box Set [DVD]

I love the case and how it is set up with the dvds. I did not realize that this DVD set was not compatible with the persons player that I got this for. They ended up keeping the DVDs and getting an all zone player. Thats the only complaint otherwise it’s a great set!

I liked the show all of the actors from start to end of the series really played they're parts very well. The bad deal is with the dvd's I had five dvd players,two of them cost nearly two hundred dollars, only one of them played the dvd's an its cost was less than seventy dollars. Go figure????

I wish this company said that this type of series was not set for American DVD s luckily I own a region free DVD player. If they would have said what region it was for I would have said 5 stars.

An entertaining series, worth watching but don't expect too much. At least it is very different from any other scifi show with new concepts and ideas as far as that is possible with all the time travel shows that are around. Good graphics, acting, and characters. Plenty of plot holes.

Exercise caution when purchasing this item. When I purchased it, I missed (my fault), the note that this DVD can only be played on DVD players manufactured for specific World Regions. In my case, the UK. Since I live in the United States, and use a DVD player manufactured for the United States, I now have the complete series of Primeval that I apparently need to find a DVD player manufactured for the UK in order to watch. This is the first time I’ve ever purchased a DVD series online that had this restriction. My mistake entirely. Up until now, I believed that DVD’s and DVD Players were compatible around the world. I’ll be very cautious about my online DVD purchases in the future so I don’t mess up like this again. Good luck, and good viewing.

great series, awesome set!!! i was fully aware when i ordered that it was an import but i invested in a region free dvd/bluray player i found for under 40 bucks on Amazon years ago so i wasn't worried about being able to play it in the US. the sound and picture quality is excellent. highly recommend.

Although in shrink wrap, these discs arrived damaged. There are 5 to 20 minutes on each disc that are not playable…. Very sad as the series is good. Disc quality is the problem.

Was charged for unopened dvd set!! It wasn't playable on us dvd players so sent it back and was charged a fee!!

A classic, underrated and well made series, but perhaps a little bit too long.this story follows the lives of a group of people investigating a new series of unnatural events around an anomaly that either goes backwards or fowards in time, essentially a wormhole to a different time, they work to try to figure out why this is happening and the best way to stop them from bringing harm to the population.As stated the main issue with this series is how long it goes on for, it primarily follows the lives of helen and nick cutter, both are scientests both working on the mystery of the anomalies, but in their own ways, they both tie in towards the end and it comes to this conclusion that you will see that would have been a neat bow on the story and a great place to end itthe issue is (at least I) feel that it shouldn't have gone on past this, but it did I feel for the persuasion of money, and we get another story that feels a bit more rushed a long where they try to harness the anomalies for their energy, this wasn't nessissary, we have seen the trying to harvest something for power plotline not a lot of times sure but it still feels like it didn't have any real impact on the original story.in conclusion, seasons 1 to 3 are great, the rest just feel unnessissary and like padding to an already rather neatly finished story, sure the rest of the story follows Conor and abbey to finish their story arc, but I still feel like they were also fine being left off where they were.7.5/10

Primeval started as such a promising series. Unfortunately this is something that didn't last. The program fails to keep up the momentum and excitement of the first few series. The show is also plagued by poor retention of cast, with cast leaving as early as the 2nd series. Whether this was intensional for write these characters out from the start it really changes the dynamic of the show. Although 'the end' of the final series completes the story of the S4/S5 plot threads, the series fails to answer key questions that the show poses as a whole. Never the less it is enjoyable.The product itself is good with basic packaging and the complete series. There are few a special features on the DVD's, which is a shame, however the few that there are are good.

Have always been a bit hesitant about Primeval being a bit teeny having the girl Hannah from S Club 7. But after getting back into Doctor Who I gave the first three series a chance as i got them cheap in a sale at HMV. And though it can be pretty cheesy at times. The effects may not stand up against a big budget American series, but the effects themselves aren't terrible. The story is good the acting is also good. Primeval is an entertaining show with a good premise, Though sad to see it hasn't been renewed for a sixth series. though there is a Canadian version but i liked the britishness of primeval. but TV series always get cancelled just ask Joss Whedon.I would give this a watch, though maybe get series one first if cheap enough to see if it's to your liking and the series improves with every series.

I know that Primeval has been going a while, but as someone who has only just discovered it, I can heartily recommend it to anyone who likes to feel involved with their characters. These are ordinary people (that everyone can associate with in one way or another) doing extraordinary things and the characters progress and develop throughout the 5 series, changing slightly so as to remain interesting, but without changing too much so as to be unrecognizable. Every series is fresh and exciting and new characters introduced throughout with a brilliant antagonist in the form of Helen Cutter, providing the enemy that I was happy to loathe! Great fun to watch (more than once) and dinasoars/monsters that seem entirely real and are totally part of the action. A credit to all involved in the making of it, from actors to writers to crew. Hope there'll be more!!

Primeval is brilliant. If you have not seen it then get this now. If you love dinosaurs and other weird creatures get it now. If you love brilliant realistic special effects get it now. It has excellent casting of endearing and tough characters and a super villianess. It is action packed with long episodes, hours and hours of super viewing. Plots of each episode are different and very clever. It is different to the average programmes and films and much much better. Do get it . Do not miss it. I cant praise it enough. As you can guess I am big, big fan. Try it and you will be too.
